    Boring, advertising laden, pretentious
I just about can’t stand this podcast. I tried to be open minded and listened to well over thirty of these but I found it so chit chatty about nothing significantly new and so advertisement laden that I felt the purpose of the show is to line the pockets of the presenters with advertisement generated revenue. Honestly anything that is said here can be looked up in two minutes on the internet. I suppose it is okay as background noise if one wants company that includes really long boring advertising for over priced items. I also found many of their ideas did not create individual coziness so many aspire to. Without individualism one’s home will always feel generic and in need of that ‘something’ more. But then all that marketing is meant to sell you generic solutions and decor. Adding so much of their own constant changing of their own homes tells me they are not even able to achieve peace and satisfaction as so called experts. Boring, yak yak. There I said it- nothing personal.

    Fun and Informative
DTT is my escape pod, especially when I get overwhelmed by the news podcasts I listen to. The ladies are always full of good actionable ideas that are reasonable that I can apply decorating my home.

    Informative, fun and inspirational!
I started listening to this podcast a couple of years ago, and I am now a devoted listener. It has provided me with so much inspiration for decorating my homes and assisting friends and family. I've also shared this podcast with others, and they have enjoyed it as well! There are so many episodes covering a wide range of topics related to decorating; it feels like there are endless subjects to explore. What I love is that the hosts share personal stories about projects in their homes and their "crushes," which makes it all the more enjoyable! I went back to school during COVID-19 and took interior design courses…this has enhanced my love for designing spaces! Thank you Kelly and Anita for sharing your passion and love for design!

A must listen if you enjoy decorating
I stumbled upon DTT a while ago and can not get enough. There is no other podcast like it. I've gone back and caught up on all the past episodes. So much great advice, inspiration, and actionable content. I've listened to several episodes multiple times. They are in my ear when I'm on the road, cleaning, walking etc and they have helped my decor and mindset in so many ways. I hope they continue for many years to come.

I could listen to them all day, and I often do. Kelly and Anita have emotionally shepherded me through moving across the country and decorating my first two bedroom apartment. So grateful for the free guidance they’ve given me over the years!

This was my gateway podcast—still enjoy listening and hearing the good advice and about changes they have made to their homes. I especially like that they hold opinions sometimes that aren’t popular with everyone…aren’t we all trying to up our game?

I feel like I’m chatting with a decorator friend!
I stumbled across this podcast in my search for good decorating advice. I’m just a girl who likes to change things up all the time! This show makes me feel Like I’m chatting with decorator friends and the tips are simple, realistic tips. I loved the episode about finding a piece of wicker on the road and dragging it home! My question is this. I did a big no-no and changed my dining room to a color that does not appear anywhere else in my house. I used SW Oyster Bay on my walls and wallpapered in a pattern with similar color. What can I do to bring the color throughout the rest of my downstairs without redoing my entire house. I have SW Agreeable gray on my walls (but I was never farmhouse) and SW Wall Street as an accent wall in my family room. With my pictures I can put some pillows in there and I think make it work BUT my kitchen has browns and grays in it (sounds awful just typing it)! I’m not opposed to painting my cabinets in my kitchen but what else can I do to bring the color throughout so it is more cohesive downstairs and not have to change out my flooring, which is a brown/gray. What accents could I possibly use in a kitchen? Thanks! - Dreaming of decorating

    Practical and helpful tips
I’ve listening for about a year now and I almost always hear something that applies directly to my home. I’ve purchased some of the products they recommend and they are always high quality. Love it!

    Lost in Longview
I stumbled on DTT trying to figure out how to decorate after a renovation. After 5 years in our ‘new’ to us real farmhouse (on a farm) I finally put a nail in the wall. Eek! Thank you Anita & Kelly - you gave me the courage to do this decorating thing. The paper contractor shades are ripped off the windows and I’ve only broken one curtain rod so far. These ladies give it to you straight but they are kind. No more grommet curtains from the discount bin at Lowe’s! Thank you both I’m a fan for life!

    Funny and Insightful
These ladies provide great "tips" in a funny and conversational way. When you are listening you feel like you are in the room with them. They provide tons of information for the everyday design enthusiasist. Each lady has her own style and between the 3 of them you will find something to take away and incorporate into your own home. I usually listen while I am painting or doing a craft project of my own.

    Tried and True design advise
I’ve been listing for a few years and always pick up something useful and relevant for my home. These women provide tried and true design advise that isn’t too trendy but is still current and applicable. Their style is approachable yet expert. I trust their opinions, even when they disagree sometimes as both come to design with a good eye and years of experience. My question is: I live in a single story stucco home with a brown bar tile roof in the Las Vegas area. I like a fresh traditional/transitional home with European influences. (English/French) Do you think I could get away with applied molding to the walls in the primary bedroom and sitting area? The walls are textured, would they have to be made smooth? I love this look but hesitate because the southwestern style of home that I live in may not work with such a traditional application. Please advise!!

    A Lovely Listen
I listen on my walks and am so pleasantly surprised at the great advice they provide without video! I have learned so much already from Kelly and Anita that even my husband has commented that he really likes what I have been doing with our house. I love their approachable style of making your home unique and your own. They are not like other “influencers” who want you to go out and buy every trendy item. Not that there is anything wrong with that,I just prefer Kelly and Anita’s style. I have two questions, so feel free to use either. (I need to book a consult!) 1. Regarding your sofa advice, I am sofa shopping at the stores you recommended for my family room. What colors or shades do you recommend if you have a husband who only likes leather sofas, a young boy and a dog? We like traditional styles. 2. Is it okay to have a different color on the inside of your front door than on the outside?

    Fun and Informative!
I love listening during my commute. It’s like I’m hanging out with my girlfriends! The show is a mix of great decorating info along with some good laughs. My question is: what are recommendations to jazz up the walls in my 2 bathrooms in our Florida beach condo? We had it renovated from top to bottom and it needs that next-level decor on the boring walls! I’m concerned about moisture from the showers. Thank you.

It's been a joy to listen!
I'm so grateful to have found this podcast. The wisdom and information shared goes beyond home decorating, and has significantly influenced my own personal approach to art. I appreciate the well laid out format and relevant, practical, and widely applicable suggestions. Plus, you both are so lovely, it's like visiting a rose garden every time :) My question for an upcoming Q&A: Could you do an episode on functional decor in small spaces? I'm thinking specifically for people (like me) who live in tiny houses or RVs and can't spare much soace for vignettes or other decorations. However, I love the idea of beautiful, functional objects that we can interact with in a daily basis. Thank you both for all the work you put into bringing these examples of beauty to us.

    Excellent design tips
I’ve been listening for a few years and have learned quite a few simple and useful decorating tips that I have incorporated into my home and garden. I have a dilemma. I have beautiful dark walnut hardwood tile floors throughout the main living areas but not in the bedrooms. I’ve always disliked carpet and yep it’s in the bedrooms. The tile has been discontinued in the finish I have and is only available in high gloss which is a no no for me. What should I replace the carpet with to give the house a uniformed appearance? Thank you.

    Gag
I’d forgotten why I stopped following years ago but a couple episodes in and I remembered! It’s like an episode of Mean Girls. What a couple of snobs! “I wore my lululemon leggings to redecorate my MIL’s beach house” Gag me now! These two aren’t worth the listen unless you like being home shamed. It’s a hard pass for me once again!
  • Joys321
Things that make your house look cheap
I truly dislike the shaming that goes on in interior design. You talk about the look but what about the living that is done in our homes? This episode may have improved but I didn’t finish.
  • So lucky I found you !!!
    Perfect timing
Moving into our dream home and looking to really style this one differently than our prior home. I couldn’t have found this podcast at a more perfect time. Simple in detail realistic tips away from trends and using classics along side current pieces is highly encouraging to someone who’s just tipping her towels into design. Thankful and listening to all the episodes makes me feel confident and ready to FULLY ENJOY this be decor adventure.

    Love this podcast!
I love listening to this podcast on my morning walk! Then I can’t wait to get home a try out some of the new ideas I have heard. Thanks Kelly and Anita! I’m a 68 year old grandmother of 4 ( soon to be 5)! You’re never too old to learn!

    Decorating Consult WOW!
I was lucky to have a 45 minute consult with Anita and Kelly and it was my favorite thing I have done in so long. Being on the phone was productive and helped me in going forward with plans for my dining room. They both had numerous ideas and we discussed every aspect of the project. I had an idea of what I wanted to do, and they built on my idea and brought such understanding of what I can do in the space for seating and arrangement of furniture. They were budget conscious and provided ideas that I can do now and ideas for the future such as flooring. We weighed pros and cons of different types of flooring, paint colors and making the space look brighter than it does now. I enjoyed the design consultation and I hope I can get to do it again someday!

Could you address how to work with glass front cabinets?
I love this show. It ticks all of the boxes for me; how to approach your home from the aspects of organization, editing, quality purchases and timeless decorating. All of this information along with two cheerful, approachable, knowledgeable hosts makes every episode an enjoyable experience. Ladies, could you please consider doing an episode of how to work with ‘exposed’ areas in our homes such as glass front kitchen cabinets, where to store bath items when you have a pedestal sink, keeping a landing zone for purses or keys looking acceptable, organizing a bar area in a stylish way and a temporary home (other than the floor) for decorative pillows and throws if guests do not want them on their seats? Keep up your good work and sage advise! Thank you ladies, Mary L.

    Best interior design podcast!
I’m slightly obsessed with this podcast! I stumbled across their podcast when I was looking for interior design tips and tricks that would help me design our new home. They have SO many great tips that have been extremely helpful for someone who has no clue when it comes to interior design. I’ve been given so many compliments on my design and decor. They're entertaining to listen to and I highly recommend you take a listen for yourself! Thank you Kelly and Anita!!!

    Informative, But Some Concerns
I am a new listener and have found the podcast to be a helpful source of home decorating ideas. However, I was surprised by the suggestion of “British Colonialism” as a decor theme, which was described with references to African elements and the “Bombay Company” store. This “theme” is culturally insensitive and ignores the important historical context of the British colonial era. I hope the hosts keep these issues in mind on a going-forward basis.

    Enjoy you ladies so much!!
Kelly and Anita, I enjoy you ladies so much! I listen to you while commuting or while I’m taking a nice long walk. I love every episode that I’ve heard. And I love that you are having fun and enjoying what you’re doing also. I can hear it in your voice and your laughter. Thanks for all the fun and I do need to set up a consult. Thank you.

    Still in 2018
Hi ladies, I am a hospice social worker and do a lot of long distance driving. I found you all when I did a search for design and decorating. I am only halfway through the episodes in 2018. As much as I would like to skip ahead … I don’t want to miss something. I did a search because we are doing an addition on our house and a remodel of the kitchen and a couple bathrooms. I just needed help and inspiration. Your podcast has been so very helpful!!!

    The Best Decorating Podcast
I am so happy to have found Kelly and Anita in this amazing decorating podcast. The podcast is entertaining and they offer instructions that make it possible to create a beautiful home on your budget. I love that they share links to their favorite items in each show. At times, I find myself laughing along with them as I would with friends. I recently built a new home and had Anita and Kelly schedule a design consult with me. It was so worth it, as they gave me 45 minutes of tips and links to find items that would help me decorate my family room. They are so creative and I appreciate how they share their lives as well as design tricks with us.

    Practical and fun
I LOVE this podcast. It has actual actionable advice and I so appreciate they don’t lean too heavily on interviews or unrelated chatter. They always get down to the goods quickly but they also both have such sweet, funny, genuine personalities. I especially love how they talk about their “crushes” at the end and I knew I found my people when one of them recommended the IT Crowd! Definitely a must listen if you’re into interior design.

    Used to be great...
I loved listening to the podcast every single week, I wouldn’t miss even one episode, but now they have so many commercials that it’s taken the joy out of listening to them. If I do ever listen to them now, I go back to the older episodes where Kelly just reads of the script for just 1 or 2 sponsors. I get the need for sponsors, but I just wish it was back before they changed the entire format of their podcast. If you need to have commercials please don’t put it in the middle of the podcast where, after I put my phone down, I can’t skip them because I’m busy. Sorry girls, I like listening to you but your not my go to anymore.

Thanks for inspiring me transform my house into my dream home sanctuary. I’m looking forward to learning and supporting you both!
