Keep it up. Appreciate your insights and the advice is very well taken. Congratulations Nate and we’ll done Francis. Thank you.

I’ve been listening to “Well there’s your problem” and “lions led by donkeys” for some time, and those led me to this show. Love the show, very informative and somewhat funny. Definitely recommend to anyone interested in military stuff. HOWEVER, I’m mainly writing this review to say something to Nate, who guested on the recent “Marines vs Teens” episode. - - Nate, you were discussing possibly moving to the Midwest, and the pros and cons of Minneapolis vs Chicago. I live in Minneapolis and I just wanted to stick up for my cit’s weather a lil bit :) in the last couple years, winter has consisted of basically just 4-5 major snow events, and we also have perhaps the best snow-plowing infrastructure in the world, so in the event of a major storm, streets are bad for at most a day! Also, you mentioned -30° temps, and I must tell you, that is truly a thing of the past. I believe the lowest temperature we got this past winter was around -10°, and the average temp in January (coldest month obviously) was 9° above zero. Also, we don’t have the killer wind chill or icy humidity m that Chicago gets. So yeah just wanted to say that to hopefully encourage you to move to our lovely city! We may not have quite the cultural appeal of Chicago, but the walkability, bike-ability, traffic, and prices are all much better than chi-town! Come join us!! :) Love the show, thanks Francis!

    Five Star Podcast
Great banter, fun topics, and a bunch of lefty vet humor come together to make one of my favorite podcasts. Been listening to it for a long time, and will keep on listening. But had to take a star away for saying APC was a bad band hahaha

    Excellence

    Love the show
The props given to Josh Howley in December 2019 are very funny in hindsight though

Army retiree, conservative, and huge fan
Love the show. I’m a 23 year Army veteran, started as a junior enlisted guy, and retired as a LTC, mostly conservative, and I am wildly entertained by the podcast. We don’t see eye to eye on a lot of things, but I thoroughly enjoy what you guys do. Keep up the good work. —LTC (ret) Greg Reeson

    Cool show but weird topics
This is my favorite gardening and weather podcast. But sometimes the hosts got on unexpected rants about the army for some reason. Anyway, I appreciate the updates confirming that St. Louis and London still have different climates.
  • Charlie Insomia
    Here’s the thing...
Once you get over yourself and realize that yes, they are angry leftist, you start to realize that also yes, they make great points about the world around them and about current and post military life, which as anyone knows, is a truly thankless job.
  • Factom
    Great
Only flaw is that they don’t post more often
  • StonyHawk
    Semper post
Grew up in North County San Diego, which is as close to being a marine while not being a marine. This podcast soothes my soul as someone who has been neck deep in boots, partied with jodies and had to listen to crusty old Fallbrook vets living in the shadow of Camp Pendleton my whole life and the deranged vet mindset it breeds. Shout out to these kings for not being the grunt style nonsense I'm used to
  • Ch1llBo11
    Too much
Well spoken and informed, yet they are mad at everyone and disdainful of more. And I generally agree with their politics.
  • BigGayCatDad024
    A breath of fresh air
Lovely alternative to the angry Facebook vet bro content. Don’t get me wrong, these are also angry vets they’re just mad at the correct things and aren’t chuds about it
  • nickeless.
    Worth it
Unlike half the country, these men don’t wish Trump was their daddy.
  • archnagel
    Use to love it
You know I use to love this pod. It is funny and as leftist vet I appreciate this safe place. But seems like to more I listen the more I feel like I am just listening to privates complaining and not discussing some important issues on the level. So still a fun show just don’t expect to elevate the conversation.

    Gentlemen, a Sincere Salute...
I am rarely one to offer a compliment to podcasters. I view, after listening, most as either wannabe TV and/or print pundits or failed/former TV and/or print pundits thinking they are relevant in the “hi-tech” world. Surprised me, genuinely, to see that I had lauded you previously under the heading, “Nobody is as cartoonish as Duncan Hunter”. Had to reread what I had written to be sure and, yup, that’s me. On April 2, however, you delivered in the final 30 minutes BEFORE jumping off to your final prerecorded segment the single best analysis of America, 1980-2020, that I have heard, seen or read anywhere. In your voices I heard the kind of sincerity that few offer in podcasting, punditry, and, sadly, real life. For that I thank you.

Finally guys I can relate to as a veteran
It’s so nice to come across fellow veterans who share my values. Liberal vets are a bit of a rarity especially when it comes to pod casts and social media. I feel many times I stand alone as a man who’s proud of my service while at the same time very critical of the military industrial complex.

Just a civilian who likes to learn and have their socialist views validated
Discovered this podcast long ago via an interview on “With Friends like These,” I am so grateful. I’m a civilian then knows those who have served and this podcast has allowed me to learn and understand challenges that veterans face and also laugh at the stories they tell and make me better about asking questions. I appreciate the honesty and recognition of privilege and power in all of the topics these host discuss. Thanks for your hard work and making me laugh at myself too.

  • dvl_doc
Great Podcast for those who have served but were left of center
This a great podcast. I recently discovered this show and I’ve been listening to all the back episodes pretty much nonstop. My only gripe is that it’s mostly centered on the Army without many perspectives from the other branches. All the hosts were Army, so it makes sense
  • Drumstick00m
    Thank You Moviebob
I found this thanks to Bob “Moviebob” Chipman. Been searching for something like it for forever. Thank you for existing gentlemen.
  • JonathanWWilson
    Honest and thoughtful
One of the few veteran podcasts that don’t make me want to run screaming into traffic. Left leaning, though not as lefty as they may think they are. Never a waste of time, usually informative, always humorous.
  • Alightgrift
    A Rightous Pod
I’ve been in love with this show ever since Nate told us exactly what he thought Steven Miller deserved ;) I’m not military, but as a lefty crank I appreciate these guys’ perspective quite a lot.
  • With caution
    Bias filter
You don’t need to listen very long before you realize these guys are 100% B.S. I listened to them claim the problem with Venezuela is due to “extremely low oil prices”. This is simply not true. Average oil prices over the last 20 years are well over the historical norm of the last 50 years. Once you get beyond their inability to know easy to verify facts, you’ll be dragged down “white people are the problem” syndrome of leftists everywhere. Somehow it’s not the problem in Asia, just in regions that have for all of known history, been backward.
  • boxergirl64
not what I expected, wow GREAT!
I love this podcast. I learn so much from each episode. Brave folks telling you things you'll never understand unless you have served.
  • bhend449
    Fresh perspective
As a lifelong coward it’s nice to hear political and cultural viewpoints from folks that actually served. This is how I support the troops.
  • matt burgoon
    Quite good
As a former troop, current hero, this podcast is quite good.

"Great listeners" - the boys wives
Honestly though. One thing I really love about the pod is that whether it's the two of you, or if you have guests, there's never a cut off in sentences or taking over the conversation. I find in most podcasts someone will interject and you'll be wondering what the other person was going to say. Everyone's thoughts are clear and concise which makes it so much more enjoyable. I've been listening for a while now and still love it. Keep on guys!

Caused me to have a massive accident but I still enjoyed this podcast
This podcast’s content triggered my epilepsy mid-traffic, whilst already traveling @ speeds over 80mph during rush-hour but I was in the shoulder lane so it was copasetic. Unfortunately, during a particularly rowdy point in a podcast, I was forced to exit the highway onto and unfinished, elevated off-ramp, a la Keanu Reeves in Speed 1. My vehicle directly struck a used car establishment. Having recovered from my epilepsy, I then engaged in a spirited debate with the owner of said establishment, however our debate was interrupted by the Quality Content yet still reverberating from my safe but now-destroyed 2003 Subaru Outback. The car salesman & I are now good friends & we’ve connected with each other on LinkedIn, where we endorse each other for professional skills such as bath salts & home appliances. Good podcast.
  • Henri from Fortress On A Hill
    Love the show!!!
I listen to at least one episode of every military / veteran podcast I can find. This has become my favorite. Nate and Francis are great hosts and thoughtfully breakdown recent news. Keep it coming fellas!!!
  • Fedor..
    Absolutely exceptional.
I was introduced to this podcast earlier today, I haven’t been able to stop listening. It’s refreshing to hear original, articulate conversation about domestic politics from a left perspective. RLTW

    Support the troops
Francis and Nate are hilarious. Shame Adrian isn’t on anymore.
  • CarRah915
Pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoy this
Love this podcast!! A few guys in the military talk about their time in, and topics from a Leftist POV
  • silverlakedogwalkers
    Support the Troops
I've only listened to a single episode, finding the pod by way of Chapo Trap House. With that said, it's a refreshing and necessary dose of reality and counter to the right-wing attempt to paint "the troops" as this jingoistic monolith.
  • Fat Aaron
is listening to this pod stealing valor?
Love hearing dudes talk military even though I'm a civilian. Great pod

    Enjoyable and Important
The width of most Americans' understanding of war and the military spans from center (or just right of center) to far right. It's great to hear a group with personal knowledge on the subject expand that width further to the left. It's an important listen for pretty much everyone, and really entertaining and well done to boot.
  • jamesacklin
    Folks, the show is good
Incredibly thoughtful and nuanced analysis of military and veterans' affairs, with a brushing of foreign policy and intelligence. Especially interesting when the hosts give a Socialist critique of current affairs through their own experiences. Really great stuff. Support them on Patreon!
  • itsmesuckers
    Stick with vet issues
When they stick with military and veteran issues, they're great. I say this as a fellow vet. Then they delve into politics and become the same racist, misogynistic BernieBros who think the Democrats and liberals are all as bad as the GOP, and don't know what the term "neoliberal" actually means. They should send their "degrees" back to the Cracker Jack boxes from whence they came. Unsubscribed.
