    Unbearable chit chat, unorganized
This is like eavesdropping on 2 women gossiping at Starbucks. Lots of trivial personal stuff, unorganized and scatterbrained instruction and recipes.

Contrary to some other reviews I think it is sweet to listen to you to just kinda gab. I listen to this while I am at work. And it is such a fun easy listen, that sparks ideas for me and makes me giggle.

    Some things to know
Okay so I love baking and cooking. One of my hobbies. I wanted to get 'better' at it so I found this podcast. I don't mind the people having a conversation but they just talked and talked and TALKED. The conversation weren't very enjoyable or fun to listen to anyway they would say "does my voice sound different I think my voice sounds different". Listen I am not one this people who are like don't have conversations but they talked a lot. The recipes are really good so that Is why I gave it some stars. If you are still reading thank you ♡

    Awesome
Best podcast ever!! I love listening to this! It one of my favorite podcasts ever!!! Highly recommend this if you love baking… but don’t expect it not have some extra chat in it. I hate how people bash them about this… it actually makes them more interesting! So ignore the negative reviews and listen on!

    Oh boy
Looking for a baking show and this started as a train wreak! I’m waiting and waiting but finally gave up.
  • diylovelife
I like it just not enough information about baking
I like it but they talk a lot about other things I like the conversation but sometimes just won’t baking

    Great inspiration and tips
I love how homie this podcast is. I also enjoy their authenticity. Every episode I get tips on how I can perfect things or just some new ideas. It’s so important to stay inspired in the industry or even just in your own kitchen. I highly recommend this podcast to anyone who wants to put a spin on a classic recipe.
  • need a new baking podcast :(
Put a bad taste in my mouth :(
I listened to the first 7 episodes and got 1/2 way into the 8th. I enjoyed the first 7, it was a little slow at times but their voices were soothing and the banter between them was fun. 1/2 way into episode 8 politics were mentioned (they said they wouldn’t get political but unfortunately they did). Basically Trump was brought up (a phone tap joke), but it turned political quick. I believe it was Taunya who brought it up and was mentioning she shared a birthday with Trump and Melody said well not personality traits and Taunya made it very clear she most definitely shared traits with Trump. You could obviously tell she supports Trump. On top of the insisting on the shared personality traits they made a joke they lost listeners because of the talk of politics (knowing it was a no no, but still kept that in the final cut??) and it honestly left a bad taste in my mouth. You did certainly lose a subscriber :/

Very dry, slow paced put me to sleep
Paced too slow and just get to the point already. I also don’t like podcasts that reference politics, I listen to podcasts to get away from that. It’s baking for crying out loud.

    Light hearted, educational and relaxing
When I listen to the sister’s podcast, I feel like I’m back home sitting in my parents’ kitchen and listening to my mom and sister chat. I love to bake but I do also love the chatty part! It’s nice getting to know the people behind the podcast. I live on the complete other side of the country from my family and listening to you guys is like being at home again. Really appreciate you!

    Great Recipes
I love baking and I love food. food. food. I think your recipes are going to be delicious when I try them. However, trying to listen to you all talk with food in your mouths is not the most enjoyable thing to do. I don’t want to tell you how to run your business or podcast but it makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck

    Fun and informative
I’ve been listening to the show for almost this now and have grown fond of it. I enjoy them talking about food and trying out each others bakes. I’m often inspired by what they book. I appreciate that they are pretty “real” and down to earth too

    Bored.
NYC Baker here. Been looking for something to listen to while I work. This wasn’t it. I found it really dry. I tried the first 4 episodes, but really couldn’t get through them in full. Moving on. Sorry girls.

    Great
Although the chit chat was a little long, it it interesting and personal. I love how this podcast stays true to itself and doesn’t change for people. The tips are helpful and the recipes are great. It’s a must watch.

    Be careful
Referencing Trump and saying he might be aligned with the racist thinking of Paula Deen has turned me away from your podcast! Black unemployment fell to 6.8 % in December, the lowest ever recorded, under the Trump administration. Stay away from political commentary unless that’s your intent, of course!

The hosts have trouble staying on topic
I was very excited about the potential of this podcast and it’s topics. I downloaded the puff pastry episode, but when I went to listen, the instructions/technique/recipe was not mentioned until 30 minuets in! I think this podcast has great potential, but the hostesses need to realize that if you are going to call it a baking podcast, you need to talk more about baking and less about these other random tangents that few people care about.

    Could be a lot better
I'm 25 minutes into episode 24 and have learned nothing about laminating dough. Way, way too much "chit chat". I was really hoping this podcast would be a good teaching tool but disappointed. Cut the friendly chatter to a minute or two then get to the subject. It seems you know your baking but have trouble communicating it.

    Potential
I'm so glad there's a podcast devoted to baking! But like some others, I wish you'd get to the baking much more quickly. I now see that you mark when the chit-chat wraps. Very helpful! I fast-forwarded to the content in the last two episodes I listened to. And still. So much less-than-captivating sister-talk. I'm several episodes behind, so maybe this has tightened up in the more recent episodes. I can only hope. Also, one nit-picky thing, and I'm almost ashamed to mention it. But since you're in the talk business ... we should address overused phrases. They're so distracting. When describing the steps in a technical process, please don't say "and then you're gonna want to do X" or "and you'll want to do Y" (or whatever it is) ahead of EACH step. I'm sure you don't know you're doing it. But I hear it a dozen times an episode for the more complex projects. While I greatly appreciate the insights into lamination, these verbal tics distract me so much. I can't be the only one. I'll keep listening. I see potential. And thank you for doing this.

    Inspiring!
I enjoy your podcast. I've learned a lot and I appreciate that the two of you are casual and that the podcast isn't overly edited. That said, while I do enjoy the chatty conversation to a degree (it gives the podcast a friendly feel) it could be a little less. Some of the episodes have been a little unbalanced. I learn a lot of technique and get inspired from the actual baking talk. Thanks!

    Some hopefully constructive criticism
Ok ladies, I'm in the middle of Episode 28 and you read your 1-star review out loud and asked about what the long-time listeners thought. I've heard every single one of your episodes and I will tell you what bothers me and what keeps me listening. I've been meaning to write you a review for a while and every time I listen to your podcast, I remember that I've been putting it off. The Chit-Chat: This is what you asked about explicitely. Chitchat is important to connect you with your listener (me!). However, I think chitchat should be edited. I've noticed consistently that the podcast plays for about 8-12 minutes before you even really talk about baking. Compared to some of the other podcasts I listen to regularly, that's about twice as long as the normal amount of chitchat. I love your chitchat, but I think it should be edited down to about five minutes in order to keep people interested. The Baking Bit: Taunya, you know your stuff! I love learning from you. I think I'd love to hear more about how to tell the difference between a good bake and a bad bake in each episode. I'd love to hear a bit more of the science behind some of the baking (but not too much!). The Business Bit: Melody, you have taught me a few things in running my own small business. Please keep going with your input! I think the business bit is a huge blindspot for most people and you shine light on that. I do love this podcast, but I think a bit more polish on the editing side will get you more listeners. I wish you both well!

Too much talking, not enough baking
I was excited to listen to this podcast on a trip. It was the brownie podcast. The word BROWNIE wasn't mentioned until 11 minutes in! By then I was done listening. Very disappointing.
  • Awsome game bruh

    Great podcast I love it

This is a great podcast dedicated to baking. A lot of helpful hints on all types of baking. I especially like that they put the recipes in the show notes. Hope this keep going!

    By far the best podcast
Entertaining and fun to listen to. Taunya and Melody know so much. I love listening to them. Their recipes are great and I've learned a ton from them already. I am a part of their Facebook group as well and every time I've posted or asked for advice they are always quick to respond.

If you love baking, you need this podcast!
I love this podcast. Taunya and Melody have such a casual, easy way of presenting everything. They're clearly experts, but they make you feel as though you're old friends talking about the day's bake over coffee. They format the podcast in such a way as to cover everything - baking techniques and ideas, troubleshooting, and even business tips for turning professional. Definitely recommend !
  • JulieAlane
    I'm Inspired!
I love this podcast. They are very knowledgeable and I've learned so much about baking. I'm always inspired to get into the kitchen and bake after (and sometimes while) listening.

    Baking Inspirations!
I am an avid baker but for the past few months, I had went into a slump and didn't have any inspiration to bake. That all changed after binging The Great British Bake Off and I needed something to satisfy my newly invigorated baking obsession. The Baking Podcast was perfect. Taunya and Melody are wonderful and charming hosts of this podcast. They go over different techniques involved in bakes and they also talk about the business side of baking, which I have always been interested in. These ladies are delightful and I am so happy I have found a baking podcast to listen to while I bake!

  • LauraBernice
    Yay! A baking podcast!!
This is a great podcast! I love to bake, but I'm not well versed in the complexities of baking. I usually bake them same dew family recipes I grew up with but have always been interested in learning more about how baking works and baking more complex things. Taunya and Melody are entertaining and informative; I have already learned quite a bit. I'm so happy they created a podcast about baking, it was definitely needed! Can't wait to hear more episodes!!

Good peek inside the business of baking
I'm really enjoying the business talk! It will be interesting to see how the cottage bakery is transformed into a cafe/storefront and I've so enjoyed hearing all the behind the scenes details.

They know what they're talking about!
Creators of some of the best croissants and other baked delights I've ever had - they know their stuff...plus, listening to them chat is a lot of fun...especially while they're enjoying a glass (or two?) of wine. Subscribe, drag out your cookie sheets and learn from the best!
