JelycaGreat Entertainment—both the OTR and the MORLs!You guys are so much fun. I haven’t been able to read much in the last three years so listening to podcasts and audiobooks has been my only escape (no pun intended) I just found your podcast recently and now listen to you in the evenings while doing my chores. Perhaps you can invite one of your listeners/epidode recommenders to join you some day. I would also love to hear you guys discuss old tv or movies, too! I can think of a few…Twilight Zone, Dark Shadows, or One Step Beyond, Night Gallery, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Bad Seed, Laura, the Uninvited, The Haunting (the original, not the remake)…etc.

Chrispick411My FavouriteThis is the best podcast ever!!!!

Fats Rimble.Good selection but the “review” can be lacking.I really do enjoy the selection of genres and shows from Westerns to Sci-Fi but once the hosts return to the microphone I usually turn it off. While most episodes that they like receive much praise, the ones they don’t receive a lot of flak which is usually poorly explained, such as my favorite OTR program, “Battle of the Magicians”.

barkleby the scrivenerProbably my favorite podcast!I love this podcast so much. If you like old radio shows, this is a great way to listen to episodes and have a fun critique of them. Initially I admit I had a little trouble distinguishing amongst the three hosts, but once I got used to them, I really started enjoying it even more. Eric, Tim, and Joshua are hilarious and have a really fun dialogue, with each bringing his own views. I especially appreciate the three distinct personalities (once I could tell them apart) and sets of tastes, so they definitely don’t always agree. But it is clear they love and respect each other as much as they love old time radio. I spend a lot of time in my car, so I love having something I know I will enjoy every time. I really think this is my favorite podcast now, and I am just sad that I have almost caught up on all of their old episodes. My only complaint - and it’s a small one - is that they sometimes include shows that I don’t think really fit the show (although I did notice that at some point they expanded to include crime shows in their opening description). But it’s always a fun listen, and I have learned a lot about the shows I am listening to as well.

CarlphishFantastic podcast! Not only is this a great way to listen to old radio dramas, but the context and discussion of the hosts is entertaining and endearing. The old shows they listen to are enhanced by the insights and thoughts of the conversation around it. I find myself laughing heartily when they discuss, even the shows that are genuinely chilling and engaging. Reminds me of my younger days when my dad and I would listen to old radio mysteries and try to solve them during the commercial breaks. Thank you so much for producing this!

PcorebJust listen to these voices...This is by far my favorite podcast! I listen to these episodes over and over. I love old time radio shows and thoroughly enjoy the commentary afterwards...sometimes I laugh so hard that I blow milk out my nose! (Spongebob reference) Please don't ever stop doing this podcast!!

Echo¥Great way to listen to old radioAll in one place! These guys are great! They choose old time radio show episodes and talk for 15-20mins after the episode. Does that episode still stand the test of time? No personal jibber jabber just the guys talking about the radio show giving it context to the era it was made in. Keeping doing this guys; my favorite show! Thank you for all you do!

isabellastellaDON’T TURN AROUNDBut seriously if you like old time radio and the shows being discussed afterward this is the show for you. I like learning more about the productions as well as the source material for the scripts, each show is very interesting. Also sometimes their discussion can sway my opinion! I really appreciate Eric’s presence because often he’ll bring up the questions I have regarding what I just listened to 🙂
-
Hoist PetardMysterious perfectionAfter listening again to their episode featuring Quiet Please: The Mummy, I realized that Eric Tim and Joshua are very Illuminati boys.
-
Crim0001My doorway to decades of audio drama. If you want to get introduced to all of the great and some of the not so great audio drama that preceded the age of podcasts then why not do it with three knowledgeable and funny friends with a passion for the stuff?
-
BuddhakahnCompletely entertainingI’ve been listening to old time radio for years and always wondered how some of my beloved episodes stood the test of time and how others felt about the story’s.this is exactly what I was looking for. One of my favorite things is the replay ability of all these shows and genuine laughs listening to the discussions.

Andrew KrzakWell-produced, well-researched, and funnyI’ve been listening to old time radio for decades and yet Eric, Tim, and Joshua manage to find shows and episodes of familiar shows I’ve never heard. That’s just one of the reasons the MORLS is amazing. Another is the rapport between the three hosts, each of whom has a very distinct personality and each of whom is very witty. The production values are high, and I love the research and context they give to each episode they listen to.

LBrentPAddictiveAlthough I started listening on a whim, The Mysterious Old Radio Listening Society is now my favorite podcast, hands down. Not only is the MORLS an excellent introduction to some of the best of old time radio, the post-show discussion between the hosts—Eric, Tim, and Joshua—is always informative and thought provoking, and often laugh out loud funny. Support the podcast through Patreon and you’ll receive bonus content and an invitation to join the monthly Zoom Happy Hour discussion—plus a nifty membership card that totally will delight the nerd in you. Highly recommend.

SsdragonflyGreat podcast! This is a fantastic podcast! I am new to it and now it is my favorite!!
-
Gman BradSuch a great podcast!Unlike some old-time radio podcasts that just play an old show, this one has knowledgeable hosts who have a real love of these old shows. They do a short introduction, then play the show without interruption, then have a reasoned and thoughtful discussion afterwards. I may not always agree with them, but I do respect their opinions. Definitely give it a try.

mache_artistLove the Podcast!I don't know why it has taken me so long to discover this podcast, but I'm glad I finally did. I am a long-time OTR fan (and by long-time, I mean decades...when I was a teenaer, I used to listen to CBS Radio Mystery Theater when it was on air in the 1970s). I love the discussion, analysis, and hilarity before and after each radio episode. I have some catching up to do...I've listened to 58 episodes so far and look forward to the rest. And boy, I'm glad you're still putting out new episodes!

ThielavisionExactly What I Was Looking For!I had been listening to some old time radio horror shows, and found myself wishing I could find reactions to and discussions of the stories. And voila! The conversations are fun to listen to, and very informative!
-
Konfeta MatsonMy favorite podcastThese guys are so great. When the radio play of the week is good, they are very good. But when the radio play of the week is bad, the guys are better!
-
MeghdrthYesFantastic old radio dramas, great and fun commentary afterwards. Really enjoy this show.
-
Snit27MORLSA Podcast that cultivates and selects great old time radio shows, followed by insightful commentary by three friends with differing opinions who clearly enjoy what they are doing and each other. An absolute delight to listen to!
-
culleyhcOk butSo I just listened to Dracula in White, and yes indeed you can distress things with a wire brush but it looks like it’s been distressed with a wire brush. Going through a turkey would bring it into contact with the grits in the turkey’s craw. It’s like going through a rock tumbler but far more random. It’s an old Victorian London antique dealers’ trick, when there were backyard poultry flocks raised for extra money. The Blue Carbuncle is a Sherlock Holmes story with a backyard goose flock. Yeah this episode was years ago BUT I COULD NOT HOLD MY TONGUE.
-
luvlanaturnerUghThe original Shows are great but the annoying commentary by moe curly and Larry ruin it!! I tried to listen a few times but the three stooges ruined it for me
-
Earth Versus SoupThree archetypes and a storyJoshua the scholar, Tim the everyman, and Eric the village idiot provide commentary and historic background to a curated selection of old time radio programs. Very enjoyable.
-
Kraai720Great to hear background and discussion!I found this a couple of months ago and have been listening from the beginning and am now into the 2019 episodes. I have loved Old Radio horror and mysteries since I was a kid trying to keep my AM radio tuned in to hear Lights Out in the middle of the night when I should have been asleep. I have found a few podcasts that offer a lot of these old broadcasts and have enjoyed them all, but what I found most enjoyable about this podcast is the discussion and background given along with the old recording. To get a bit of the background and history surrounding the shows and hearing more about the actors and artists has made these shows so much more enjoyable and interesting. Thank you guys for this! I am so looking forward to hearing more and more!
-
666haloAwesome stuff!OTR is the best, Suspense, Nero Wolfe, Sherlock Holmes, ANYTHING & EVERYTHING Orson Welles, especially The Black Museum & of course, you guys have sober, thoughtful, definitely entertaining insights. Love the banter! Keep up the great work, hopefully you can get enough feedback & fans to possibly do this full time & make longer shows w/say, 2 otr shows to discuss... Either way, good luck & thank you.

linda quilterFeel like I’m in the clubLove these guys. Love to share my love of vintage radio. They give great insight on the context and history of the times. It’s fun to hear them appreciate what’s great and what’s cheesy in these old shows.

PLO_TXGeorge have good bloodI love this podcast. Glad I found it. Keeping it going!

jonesjbSo many great things about this show!As a fan of horror/crime/adventure Old Time Radio, I'm confident that when I listen to this podcast, I'll hear an Old Time Radio episode curated around quality. The discussion after the show brings deeper nuance, and is equaly enjoyable to the show itself. The team has a great sense of humor, and passion for what they do. Well done, and a thank you to the creators for all the work you put in to this. Highly recommended.

Fanny_BawbagLove it but unreliableThis podcast helped me find this genre. I didn’t know I’d love it. Since then, I’ve found better sources. Bummer but true. Rarely return here. And I hate swap cast or non-original program podcasts. Don’t sell me out to your friends.
-
the_shadowjackFantastic podcastListen to these guys! Even if you don’t like radio shows - you’ll like these guys (if they’ll just stop talking about Martian Chronicles, they’d be perfect)! Honestly, one of the best intros to radio dramas you’ll find. They cover a wide range of shows and types of shows and the discussions / critiques / comedy routines after each radio show concludes are well worth a listen. I’ve learned quite a lot about radio drama history, the actors, the writers, shows, Eric’s foibles, Tim’s disdain for children (child actors), and Joshua’s secret research into time travel (all the SF warnings about meddling with time can be confirmed by listening to him speak about OTR, btw). Enjoy!

voiceoftruth2020Love this podcastThank you.

Johnp3907Great For OTR Fans!Recently discovered this and I’ve been binge listening. The shows they play are a great cross section of old time radio thrillers, and the hosts are very pleasant to listen to!
-
HeffsauceSo great! Not only do I love the episode selections, but the three guys have a really fun rapport. I like laughing along with them about Cat Wife and learning more about OTR.
-
JEX7373This is what OTR was missing!I’ve listened to OTR shows most my life - and to finally get the inside scoop on the actors and productions is what I’ve always wanted. Keep up the great work!!!

Ol' NateyThey have deep knowledge of genres and styles!Their library of shows is vast and even when they play a series I'm familiar with (like Suspense or The Shadow), I often have not heard the particular episdoe they play. I relax to this show every night.

KiminmplsExcellent! So glad I found this podcast. I love OTR so I’ve already heard some of the shows they feature, but I still enjoy listening again for their commentary. I hope to see one of their live shows in the Twin Cities someday soon.

My AdverureGreat job guys!If you’re into old mystery radio shows, this podcast is for you. Eric, Tim, and Joshua do a great job hosting and their humor and chemistry add the cherry on top of this nostalgia filled sundae. BONUS: There’s no Carole Fk*** Baskins in ANY of the episodes.
-
Bananabe_bobLove it!OTR was literally the first thing I discovered on the internet, and it’s been a pretty lonely hobby since. This podcast is the first time I’ve found meaningful discussion, in any format. The hosts bring a wealth of information along with in-depth discussion and criticism of each episode. I am so glad I’ve finally found this.
-
MeanaginaA compilation of all the best episodes of old radio programsI've been listening to old time radio programs for over 15 years and only recently stumbled upon this gem. It's like some one took all my favorite creepy old time radio episodes and put them together just for me. Through this, I've also discovered quite a few fantastic episodes I had never even heard before--and I thought I'd hear them all. Additionally, the critiques and banter between the hosts is both hilarious and intelligent. I honesty could not recommend this podcast more and that's coming from someone who almost never writes reviews.
-
TierrachikLOVE WHAT YOU GUYS DO!Don’t know much about these kind of stories. Would love to hear more stories about haunted houses, ships, witches and werewolves!!
-
neb1868❤️I have always loved old time radio, I have introduced the show to my husband and he loves listening to the shows every night. Keep up the great job. Thank you 😊
-
ACatSatGreat fun!Either the radio piece is great or it’s not and the chat afterward is hilarious. Great combination.
-
JahDad22Highly Recommend! This troupe of talented actors and performers have focused their skills on bringing back classic bits of old time radio magic. See them live if you can, but subscribe to the podcast and enjoy!!
-
babbel userDelightful! This show is a treasure. As a relative old-time radio newbie, I didn’t know what to listen to beyond going through the “best of Suspense” lists I found online. It’s a sampling of episodes from all times and places — great if you don’t know where to start. The hosts are affable and funny. An extra plus, it’s sanity-maintaining to hear someone call out stereotypes or just the fact that no one ever listens to their wives!
