I’m not really a fan of interview shows so I didn’t expect I’d like this as much as I do. I heard Blake on the Chasing Tone podcast that he also cohosts and he talked about some of the people he interviewed. The one that got me really interested was Tom Cram of Digitech pedals. Once I listened to that episode I kind of got a little hooked. He doesn’t just have musicians on that are trying to climb their way up to whatever is considered the top these days. He talks to a lot of people who do are variety of things. Design and build pedals, build professional studios, people who do research and write books, amp builders and of course boring old musicians who sometimes turn out not be so boring. I liked it enough that I signed on to Patreon to get the extra stuff. I wanted to be one of the cool kids. Give it a chance and you will too.

The Tonemob Podcast has been getting good answers out of people for awhile now, and I look forward to finding out where the good pizza is, what’s the favorite Boss pedal every week. Keep up the good work!

Blake has a ton of amazing artists, creators, and stars on each week and the content never fails to entertain. The patreon episodes get even crazier. He even has been known to do giveaways from time to time and my wife won one. First time we’ve ever legit won anything from a show. So that was awesome. Can’t say enough good things!

Blake has developed into a very good podcaster and conversationalist. Even if you aren’t into the music of the guest, Blake will pull information and stories out of them that will make it worth the listen.

Absolutely one of my favorite podcasts out there, and definitely my favorite guitar podcast! Blake always manages to give great interviews and connects with the guests. He asks the important hard hitting question, like favorite pizza! Love Blake and love the Tone Mob!!

I’ve been listening for 4ish years now. It’s been so fun listening to Blake grow as an interviewer. He has an innate knack of being relatable, but he’s turned into the Edward R. Murrow (and not just for his sign-off) and Barbara Walters of the gear world. His conversations are fun, deep, funny, serious, ridiculous, inspiring, expertly walking a line between steering the interviewee and being led by the interviewee. Worth a weekly listen, and absolutely worth signing up for the paid bonus content.

I've been listening for a couple years. My favorite Boss pedal is the RV-6 and my favorite pizza is Little Ceasers Yep Little Ceasers.

I have been listening to this Podcast for the past 4 years. It’s always fun and informative. Blake is an excellent host and curator who knows to balance and also get meaningful questions pertaining to the guest vs canned this what we ask everyone. RIYL Guitars, Musicans, and pedals. 🎛🎛🎛

This podcast is great once I fast forward through the first 7 minutes of rambling commercials. If those were better scripted, more concise, and less awkward, it would be 5 stars.

One of my top five podcasts, to learn about guitars, pedals and gear. The show not only covers guitar pedal makers, but also regularly has working musicians, who share their perspectives on performing, creativity and the gear they use. I have discovered several musicans and bands through this podcast, that I probably wouldn't have heard of. And of course, on every show, Blake uncovers what everyone has a hunger to know... the guests favorite pizza. How can you go wrong with this podcast? Blake is a great host, very knowledgeable and also interjects a little humor.

I’m fairly new to listening to Podcasts and the guitar scene, but if you want a weekly dose of both, Blake delivers. The interviews he brings provides not only a look into the gear, but the back story behind how the guest came to the sound/tone they produce. If you are looking for something solid concerning all things guitar (and pizza), give the Tone Mob episodes a listen.

After hearing Blake on The Mike Herrera podcast, I have been addicted to this Pod. I have never paid attention to what I was playing, I always bought what sounded good. After him geek out on guitar set-ups and pedals , I now find myself geeking out to. I love to hear how everyone sets up their gear.

Blake is a super informative, super chill, super honest podcast host. His interview style is engaging, informative, and fun. His guest are the people you want to hear from giving you the insider and behind the scenes look of your favorite gear companies. I love this podcast. I've been listening since episode 1 of the interviews. There has been a bit of an evolution in audio quality, but still the same old Blake that I have come to really appreciate. He's a guy that I'd love to hang out with myself (DM me if you are in the OH/PA area Blake :)). The talk is not always gear related, but like he says, it's about the people behind the tone. Also, you never know what might come up during a cast (give the OBN interview a listen). I always find myself jonesing for the next episode, and I think that is a good indicator that this podcast is worth giving a listen. Keep up the good work Blake.

This is a nice “pedals! Oh look, squirrel!, and pizza...” kinda pace with excellent content and a creative style. I have to say though, there is a divisive issues of the boss pineapple pizza jelly and joyo beer and wheat thins pizza crisps combo not being ok with everyone. Very love/hate! That said, love the podcast, it’s worth your time and you should share it! - Jim

A solid, down to earth podcast that’s relatable and covers the gamut of the artists, gear, and pizza.

Blake is a great interviewer and all around great dude. His guests are very open and he does a great job getting details but also the big picture.

This is a great podcast to listen to if you just want to find out what musicians or people behind guitar gear brands are like in real life. It's not about selling their laatest album, pedal, etc. It's just a friendly conversation about music, gear, food, Oregon, how gross mayonaisse is, history, why amps should never be replaced by mini computers, fuzz pedals, white sauces being an abomination, band dynamics, other podcasts, etc, etc, etc. Give it a shot, it's a comfortable feeling podcast.

The only thing I don’t like about this podcast is when people say they like pineapple on their pizza. Yuck!

Man... I’ve been listening consistently to every ep since #1 with Ryan McCaffrey. When I heard them talking Hulk Hogan playin national anthem on guitar - I knew I was home. Over the past four years this show has really grown and evolved into something special. Perfect blend of tone toys, sass, pizza, guitars, pineapple, and more pineapple than you could ask for. I honestly can’t give this enough stars. If you like people, pizza, or guitars then this is for you!

Blake is the real deal and has a great way of interviewing guests. He’s also a great food enthusiast and that adds a cool layer to his show.

It's awesome to find someone as gifted at interviewing such a wide range of folks in the gear and music industry. Love how he branches out and doesn't have the same few people on time and time again. It makes the industry feel both bigger and more intimate than I would have otherwise thought. Could use more cats, though.

I've been a consistent listener since the early days of the podcast. Blake has really come into his own as an interviewer as the show has progressed. The repeated guests are always a blast also. As long as it keeps getting published, I'll keep listening. Also, Patreon content is A+ also. I highly recommend it if you dig the main cast.

What you’re getting with this show is some serious insight into the lives and stories of people from all over the musical map. The interview style is laid back and conversational which seems to put the guests at ease. It’s not just dudes sitting around arguing about tone wood and string gauges. You learn about the business side of things and, sometimes, even a glimpse in to the personal lives of some of the leaders in this guitar/ gear industry. The interviews with the husband and wife duo of Earthquaker Devices stand out to me as interesting and wildly entertaining. That being said, There is unbridled aggression toward the magical creation that is Hawaiian Pizza. Blake may know his stuff, but the Pineapple hate is uncalled for! Long live pineapple and ham!!!!

Blake is a great interviewer and seems to be very good at making his guests feel comfortable. His guests are top notch and have a lot of great information to offer. This podcast and community is a great presence in the gear community.

I stumbled upon this podcast just as I was getting back into playing guitar after a ~20 year hiatus, and it ended up being the prescription to my guitar doldrums. Blake has an honest, kind interviewing style, and gets the BEST guests to come on his show. It’s a great mix of nerdery and human interest exposition — makes for informative and entertaining listening. Infotainment, if you will. He does a great job of listening to his guests, and not forcing the convo into an unnatural direction. I do not agree with all the host’s pizza choices, but that small fault can be easily overlooked. Even the most causal player will get a lot out of this podcast - even if it’s just an appreciation for how to better listen in a conversation.

If you’re looking for gate-keeping, cork-sniffing, industry shills spending an hour arguing over why some new piece of gear is or isn’t for you, the Tone Mob is NOT your show. If you want to hear a kind, humble person interview top industry professionals and find out the why behind what they do and get some laughs along the way, this is your podcast. Tone Mob provides a great service to the guitar community. Give the show a chance, as it can be unconventional and you’ll come away with inspiration and motivation. Keep it up Blake.

So far the best guitar gear podcast I have sampled. Covers things like how did the company get started, how did the founders get into building gear, some specific products and details about how they were developed, al in a friendly conversation format. Well done!

First, let me just say that Blake (the host) seems like a really nice guy. I'm glad he's providing a forum for guitar gear makers to share their stories, which are often very interesting, and the sound quality is excellent. However, he could use a lot of work in terms of being a host based on the three four episodes I've listened to. Blake tends to ask the same questions to all of his guests (including "What is your favorite kind of pizza?", which honestly no one cares about) as if he's reading them off of a template. Thankfully, he often asks questions submitted by the ToneMob.com Facebook group which tend to be more interesting than his own. I wish he would take more time in advance of each episode to specifically tailor questions to the guest in question. Also, Blake's banter almost never moves the conversation forward. Usually if he has something to say after the guest answers his question, the guest often awkwardly reponds with, "Yeah". One of his stock responses tends to be something along the lines of, "Yeah, you're not just putting out another tube screamer". Like I said before, major kudos to Blake for doing this podcast. I just wish he would spend more time developing his question content, conversation skills, and confidence as a podcast host.

You know those people who make awkward jokes and then insecurely laugh at the lame joke they just made? That’s Blake. It’s pretty hard to listen to because it’s so awkward and doesn’t flow very well. But he does have some legitimate guests, and that’s really the only reason I gave it a listen. Hope it gets better, because the guests should be interesting to listen to.
