It’s a pretty good podcast, but it could be better. I’m not a long time listener, the noises distract me, and I usually listen at night, so it isn’t very soothing to me.

Summary of Taco Bell Ep: Bell white-washes the taco, (not the Spanish Colonizer taco , to be clear), the indigenous Aztec taco. THE END.. I read reviews about “most your episodes are about white men” … News Flash, A LOT of white men were innovators, pioneers, entrepreneurs around A LOT of industry, including food, “that built” America. The Taco Bell Ep was my first listen, (your final upload). I came here looking for some interesting, educational, unbiased history. I got an obvious slant, attempt to appeal to a self loathing/shame thirsting audience. Disappointing

The podcast is pretty good, but the show is much better and is on Hulu

I know that this comment is over 2 1/2 years late and it is about a relatively unimportant detail, but re. the episode “The Chips That Took Over the Snack World,” at the 12:05 mark, the speaker states that Laura Scudder’s business was in Monterey, California. The city where Ms. Scudder built her potato chip fortune is, in fact, Monterey Park, California, which is a suburb of Los Angeles, about seven miles east of downtown L.A., and about 275 miles south of Monterey, CA. Monterey is a coastal town about 86 miles south of San Francisco. Monterey Park doesn’t have a ton to brag about, aside from an amazing array of authentic Asian cuisines, so don’t take Laura Scudder away from us!! 😃 🥔 ➕ 🏔🤴🅿️

The show is ok but It can definitely be better about a few things. The podcasts should come out in a weekly or monthly basis so your listeners will know when to get on and listen. Otherwise they won’t get on because they don’t know there is a new episode. The other thing that others have mentioned is there are mostly white people in the podcast and I think that you should be able to involve African Americans, Latina/Latino, Asian, Chinese, etc. I think it is important that you include more cultures into your podcast. Because let me tell you... they all have played a major roll in fast food. So please try to take it in that there are more people to involve in your podcast. Thank you!

Just read the pathetic review by the whiner who reviled this show because it was nothing but”white men”…..yawn. Ok time to rewrite history again or get re-educated or whatever these guilt laden complainers need to feel safe. Sheesh, can’t even enjoyashow about fast food,

I normally enjoy this podcast but season 2 seems very flimsy. The Submarine sandwich episode especially. They need to add some dates for reference. The episode ended without saying anything about what happened to Tony C’s partner. The expert commentators really said nothing as well. This one was slapped together

I love the podcast and the show on the History Channel. I have to requests. 1 I wish they were longer and more of them. 2 take the show on History Channel and put it on the podcast. I watched it last night and it would work just to put the audio from the show on the podcast.

So great NOT to hear all the fast talking know it alls with more cursor music than dialogue. A good quality show nicely presented without ostentation. Thanks

What a great idea and adventure through time! I have always loved history and have found this podcast an amazing and refreshing twist to telling the history of America (United States)! Exploring these ideas and food that have changed everything about our daily lives and have created our collective culture here in the US. An outstanding podcast please keep up the good work!!!

I love the idea behind this podcast, but it’s impossible to hear the host’s voice. I’ve stopped downloading due to the host whispering though the entire episode.

This 2021 history podcast from Ozy and the History Channel tells the surprisingly entertaining stories about what it took to create some of the most famous food industry giants you thought you knew like KFC, Hershey and a dozen or so more. Ozy has done some other notable podcasts including Flashback, Future of X and Confidential. Fans of the History Channel might be privy to the fact that it also has a TV show by the same name with the same episode topics. The background stories of how some of our favorite snacks were developed shows an unexpected human side to the people we’ve come to know as tycoons. There’s everything you can think of in these episodes: ruthless business tactics,aspiring competition, ingenuity, innovation and more. One of my favorite things about the show is how it’s told. Each episode is told with the help of a knowledgeable host, food historians, and professors. It’s all blended together for a seamless story. Apple Podcasts has 4.5 stars, and 427 ratings. Some don’t like solo host Sean Braswell but I’m a big fan of his voice. So far there are 10 episodes and while I hope there will be more this appears to a limited series. The last episode came out in April. When it was airing new episodes were released once a week on Thursdays and were on average 32 minutes long. My favorite episodes had to be “Cereal Part One: The Brothers of Battle Creek'' and “The Great Chocolatiers” because who doesn’t love cereal and chocolate. “The Great Chocolatiers'' alsoo took one of the most popular slots according to Owltail along with “Colonel Sanders’ First Stand.” Great for kids and classrooms. This is such an interesting podcast. The podcast has a companion television show. I loved learning how the ideas for so many foods we take for granted came about. Innovations for ice cream and ices on a stick, the best variety of potatoes for French fries, ways to make the best canned soups, cheese with a stable shelf life and so much more take center stage in different episodes. Wars between rival companies is a then that runs throughout.

I loved the TV show and I enjoyed the podcast even more! I look forward to, and hope for, more episodes!

I taught school for thirty years and from second grade through tenth grade multiple subjects this series would have been captivating and multi subject appropriate. I hope there are more episodes coming!

These are my “is there a new one yet?!” podcasts because this is actually something fun to learn about. This is one of the few podcast I actually listen to. Usually I just play it and it bores me to sleep. I’m surprised they get enough information to make these podcast episodes 30-40 mins long. Needs new episodes though. I haven’t seen any for a month. Overall, it’s truly fascinating to learn about, and it’s fun. So, you should listen!

It’s very cool to know the history of food and the people who invented certain food in America and all the sacrifice and hardship it took to get certain foods to where they are today. This podcast is awesome.

I love this podcast. Food is a major component of any culture. It is fascinating to see how modern American culture was shaped by the success or failures of food innovators.

The content is really interesting and well written but I had to stop listening because of the background noises. The chewing sounds, slurping sounds, and dripping sounds were unbearable for me

I hope there’s a second season. This is a delightful podcast & the episodes are perfectly timed. Who wouldn’t want to listen about food??
