Please bring Chris back on MSNBC.
MSNBC made a bad decision letting Chris leave only reason I watched was for him and Rachel. So glad I found this podcast .love to see him back on msnbc or any station.

    We miss you.
You’re a great reporter. We miss your hourly show.

    I love him!
I loved his show on MSNBC Hard Ball. I think the reason they got rid of him was ridiculous. So he flirts! I would have taken what he said in the spirit it was meant-a compliment! Some of these women are taking this to extremes. The me too movement may have some good points, but in some ways they’re making themselves look like man hating idiots. Now, that aside, I haven’t listened to the podcast yet, cause I much preferred seeing him on TV. In fact, I stopped watching MSNBC after he left.

    Loved Chris
I missed his coverage of politics and was surprised of his departure from MSNBC. So glad he’s back in the globe.

    Much needed!
Free America has that ability to grow. Mr. Chris Matthews has the right mind and abilities we value most. He delights and terrifies people, (like myself) with brain muscle and grace, yes grace, On and Off the Field. America has grown fat, old and saggy like the weird times we are living. We need our outspoken professional leaders to be productive again.

    No offense
Much better areas to spend ur time. He’s made a mockery of himself with his disdainful covering Politics this past year. of course everyone deserves a second chance and I wish him Well. he’s at least done some good things over the past 2 decades but couldn’t listen to a full episode. #LoveTrumpsHate but lies and pandering to the “moderate” elite dems doesn’t help either.

    Miss u Chris Matthews
U were the voice I looked forward to hearing. U dug deep and didn’t put up with BS. I’m the same age as u. We remember the history of our time. We still feel it in our guts. We also get put out to pasture. I was depressed by they way they drummed u out. They “me to’d” you! Please get your voice on a new platform. ? How about a podcast! Kevin

    Missing Chris
Chris, you are n will be missed in the lives of those who love true and honest professional journalism from the best...!

    Not worth the listen.
Tried and deleted. Pod Save America covered Iowa and it was a better mix of fresh ideas along with history and followed each campaign’s organizing efforts. Matthews’ inability to grow along with society is apparent whenever I listen to him.

    Thanks, Chris!
I really enjoyed the podcast, one political junkie to another. Thanks for all the years of Hardball, and for your outstanding books (the JFK and RFK are favorites, and Life’s A Campaign has been a graduation gift more than once!). Thank you, most of all, for spending 15 minutes talking to my daughter, an 18 year old Freshman at The New School, at a book signing on Election Day 2012 (her first). She was the kid in the “New Yorkers for Obama” T-shirt I got her, and you caught her Wisconsin accent and chatted her up about Scott Walker, politics, and public service. You (& Chris Hayes) were lovely to her and made a big impression!! She graduated with a double major in politics and literature, after study abroad in Italy, and came back to Milwaukee for law school at Marquette (where I went 30 years before). She is now a Milwaukee County prosecutor — public service — which I retired from after 30 years. Thanks for your influence on her trajectory!! Wishing you a happy retirement from on air and so looking forward to your next book — come to Milwaukee for a book signing, and we’ll stake you a beverage! Best wishes & thanks...we’ll always have Hardball!!

    Interesting and relevant
I really enjoyed this series. The guests were very adept at delving into the historical specifics that showed how we’ve come to where we are in political campaigns, especially in regards to the themes. My only complaints: the opening theme’s Hail to the Chief with the sour note in it, and the commercials were annoying.
  • BigDogCheerio
Irrelevant and out-of-date with the times
Deleted this after first episode, as it had nothing to say that wasn’t a rehash of out-of-date opinion let alone analysis. I used to appreciate Chris Mathew’s take over a decade ago, but now he has become irrelevant, and an embarrassment to what he once was
  • Von Rundstedt
    Fantastic
Chris Matthews is terrific. He’s a concept. I enjoy him very much. He’ll be missed.

    Love Chris
I have been watching Chris Mathews for more than 20 years. He has shared so generously his knowledge and experiences in politics and in life with all of us over the years. He is a treasure!
  • Rebecca in Seattle
    Great!
Loving every minute of it Chris! Number 2 almost brought me to tears remembering how things were vs. how they are currently. Your experience and knowledge are totally relevant today- don’t listen to the naysayers as they seem to be listening to no one but their own echo chambers. Politics is History - some of you should pay more attention to it (and have some common sense and more critical thinking skills). Thank you for your many years of reporting Chris. your true patriotism and cutting through the BS. Give us more podcasts!

    Blech
Matthews is an irrelevant and insufferable tool. His perspective is of no value and he should retire and disappear, forever. If you listen to this podcast you will be the stupider for it. Addendum: at the time I wrote this review, this podcast had a rating of 3.5 stars. Now, less than 24 hrs later, it is at 4 stars despite mine being the only review in that time. Highly suspect🤔

    So insightful
This is a great walk through some political history hosted by a expert in the field and with guests who were there to create or cover it.
  • Jesswolfe50
    No credibility
After hearing Chris Matthews’ comments about presidential candidates that were over the top nuts, you lost any credibility for me. I listened to the first couple of episodes and then unsubscribed.
  • democracy matters
    out of touch and offensive
A dated perspective that states “common knowledge” for the conservative 70 plus set. Frequently offensive especially toward women and progressives.
  • Wild_Dasia
    Painful
Chris Matthews is not qualified, in the year 2020, to explain how a candidate wins the election.
  • CrazyLazy 408
    Stop
    Stop the annoying commercials
  • KVV9000
Out of touch and ill informed
    Just awful

Mathews is a blowhard hack that needs to retire
Please throw in the towel and disappear from the media ASAP

When is this guy’s contract up?
He is a dinosaur and a boob. He needs to go and he should take Joe and Mika with him.

How to Win the Presidency in 1960
This podcast starts out making some plausible sense and then quickly turns to an outdated blueprint for elections. MSNBC clearly doesn’t understand politics today and this podcast barely cites any real indicators of political success from any elections within the past 25 years. The guest contributers do a very good job with the talking points Chris Matthews gives them, however, these talking points contradict each other and offer no sense of modernity. Please don’t let this podcast effect your votes in any election.
  • PC Thugs
    Bad week for Matthews.
I just can’t listen to this podcast and not have it tainted with all the nonsense Matthews has said just this week.
  • Brans0217
    Fraud
Someone as bias as Chris Matthews shouldn’t report the news and definitely shouldn’t have a podcast about the 2020 presidential race.
  • Ihumanable
    Chris Matthews disappoints again
Chris Matthews continues his childlike belief that his way is the only way to win the presidency. Podcast is boring and scattershot. Listen to basically anything else.
  • ThatsFaisalNotFlenicia
    Go away Chris
This along with everything you do is terrible. Please, just stop forever.
  • Weatfyh
    Great
Absolutely fascinating. Anyone running now should listen carefully.
  • w870o
    Pull the plug
I think it’s safe to say Chris Matthews’ era of relevance has long passed. Instead of blaring his incessant nonsense perhaps he should take up a more purposeful mission. Skip this and spare your ears of this garbage.
  • spencerlennard
    cut the cord
MSNBC is great, but the time is so right for you to free him from your itinerary. He doesn’t fit and pulls you down into the gutter.
  • Newyorker98760
    Not about Iowa
I like Chris. I really do. But episode 1 is a bait and switch. This isn’t about Iowa. It’s about the Jimmy Carter story from before he was elected governor in Georgia. Iowa is just tangential and Iowa is discussed only as relevant to Carter’s story. The title of the podcast is dishonest.
  • Francis James Hogan
    Deep dive pretty shallow
This was not worth the listen, I was hoping for some real digging for great hidden stories of presidential runs, but ended up disappointed. It's not a bad idea for a podcast, just not done in a serious manner.
  • txstrng
    No more Chris Matthews
I was enjoying this but Matthews spreads disinformation in MSNBC and compares Sanders win to the Nazis taking France. I won’t support that behavior
  • Trekker1962
Comparing the Third Reich to Sanders supporters?
Unsubscribed after Matthews lost his mind comparing the Third Reich marching into Paris to Sanders winning Nevada. Trump is the Nationalist not Sanders. Evidently Matthews finds European Socialism a greater danger than European Nationalism.
  • gnyaa
    Problematic
The guy is ok with the orange one being the president another term...
  • BrianJDoyle
    I cannot
I’m sure that MSNBC thought to have Mr Matthews jump on this bandwagon, it seems clear that he doesn’t want to be here either.
  • Gravy Pump
    Ironic title
Think I’ll pass on analysis from someone who was not only wrong about our current president’s chances of winning but also likened Jewish candidate to Nazis for no good reason. How utterly embarrassing and out of touch.
  • Patrick the H
    Total hack
I’d give negative stars if I could. This guy is the definition of a corporate stooge. Feel bad for anyone who has to listen to this establishment mouthpiece. Disgusting.
  • kittycrimes
    Chris Matthews is a disappointment
The host doesn’t have anything to offer the shows concept. Clever idea with pathetic execution. Chris Matthews it’s time to retire.
  • Kevie3drinks
Too many Hitler comparisons for my taste.
I don’t understand how a guy who cut his teeth with the Kennedy’s has such a problem with Medicare for all and free education and affordable housing.
  • Rhando74
    Is he going to cry?
I don’t want to hear him whine about how Sanders will murder him in Times Square. I’ll pass
  • frosie666
This guy is absolutely a republican
He all bit said he thinks another 4 years of trump would be better than sanders. I don’t think anyone should consider him an authority on anything.
