Im screaming at the radio - why?
I love Van in general. I downloaded this podcast after Megan kelly mentioned Van’s name on her podcast. I find the topic interesting but many times found myself wanting to know the why or the other side of the story. Sometimes it feels like Van is “selling” his side of the argument and presenting the facts for that vs showing both sides and making an argument for his side. This is a problem that I have in general with the world of any kind of media! I always want to hear for and against and argument so that i can feel like I understand better. Why wont anyone do this anymore like it used to be. One example is the info about black/brown’s being disproportionately incarcerated but then talked about economic status. Should we be looking at this from an economic status vs race? Please explain as nobody ever seems to talk about this? It drives me crazzzy. Could the main problem actually be economic, then we look at race within economics? I never hear the facts about this. It seems to always be presented in race terms today. What about your discussion about someone getting a ticket and the trickle down problems if the lose the ticket - there is no discussion about personal responsibility - it was just presented like if u lose your ticket and there are consequences how dare our justice system do this? No acknowledgement that while we realize the person that lost their ticket needs to be responsible for this, we feel there should be more assistance bc if you are poor you should still be-able to make mistakes like losing your ticket and have someone help you find out what to do and get through it. This is where you lose me. If you said lets put resources in poor communities so that they have someone to go to that helps guide people when they lose their ticket you would not lose me. Please please please have a podcast about is the issue of: America, where do our problems truly stem from - poverty or race?

Thank you for the knowledge / Gabriel Hughes
Thank you Sir for this awesome knowledge, I believe what brother Malcolm said that “ Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today”. I believe education can come in several types for people to learn.

VAN JONES IS AN ABSOLUTE CLOWN
VAN JONES IS A RACIST AS WELL. “ITS A WHITE LASHING.” DUDE, YOU’RE AN OVERLY DRAMATIC MORON. PPL JUST DON’T LIKE SOCIALISM STOP TRYING TO DIVIDE THIS COUNTRY OVER RACE. YOU’RE A HORRIBLE HUMAN BEING.

    Really good.
More than any other public figure, Van really works hard to help people get into one another’s shoes and create empathy. This series is no exception. It really really makes me want to work on getting civics back into k-8 public education.

Extremely informative - lights a fire within
I’ve already learned so much from only 3 episodes of this podcast. It will shock you what is not only legal, but the corruption happening right under our noses. It’s truly unbelievable. I was already a staunch supporter of criminal justice reform, but this podcast has me fired up to demand change.

Reform is overdue on the process.
I know people who have been and are going through this system. It is broken and needs to be fixed. That will take will and work. It has become an industry. Bottom line bottom feeders can smell the money to be made on misery. The ankle bracelets cost money, the daily communication by private venture telephone systems with barbaric service cost money. The 'convicted of a crime' line with on-line applications effectively eliminates this population from consideration. Contact with police causing reincarceration, even when it's started by officers, is mindful cruelty. Police budgets are inflated on constructed fears about populations who need that coaching, rehabilitation, 'corrections' outlined in this piece. For most caught in the net, it's unconscionable enforcement of a 'kick 'em while they're down' philosophy. It's them and us mentality - the sickness at the heart of many institutions that might help but have turned the wrong corner.

My favorite gamer gets more of an audience than this broke network. And he doesn’t have 89 million cable subscribers subsidizing him! Thanks for the podcast. Keep up the good work.
