Have you ever wished that someone would explain theology in a way that doesn’t require a degree or a dictionary? Maybe you’ve listened to a sermon and it seemed like the pastor was speaking another language. Or perhaps you’ve thought that the notes in your study Bible could use a commentary of their own. From imputation to justification, theophany to theodicy, keeping all these concepts straight can be a challenge for any believer. This is a short podcast about long words. Every week, Barry Cooper sheds light on a different biblical or theological term, using helpful illustrations to apply it to your life. Listen to this week’s episode to expand your understanding and deepen your faith, one word at a time.

    I listen to one EVERYDAY!
This podcast is just great man, short, educative, EXCITING. It narrows down on the theological principles by simplifying (though some are very hard), and explaining it with scripture. There’s a lot to be learnt from on here.🫱🏽‍🫲🏾

    Not to be missed
This is one the few podcasts that I don’t miss and often find myself looking forward to hearing. It’s short and straightforward, humorous, educational, encouraging but most of all biblically accurate. Start at the beginning and hear them all. Way to go ole chap. Keep up the great work Mr. Barry Cooper to the glory of God.

I listen to this and Renewing Your Mind every day. It’s changed my perspective. I grew up Baptist and then became agnostic. Coming back to faith and looking at it from a Reformed view has helped me put my focus on Christ instead of focusing on myself. Thanks!

    Simple and helpful
Just listening to a few of these a week can be so much help that you never thought you needed. Kinda like reading a little bit of Proverbs, here and there.

Best podcast for quick and solid explanations
If your friend has a theological question, send them to this podcast. Very good short illustrations and stories at the beginning. I love getting material from this podcast for sermons.

    God In Person
I love contemplating God with us, “Emmanuel” but I also enjoy contemplating it said in a slightly different way, God in Person. How crazy is that. Yes, seemingly improbable, like man’s walk on the moon. Your closing reminder Of God In Us, too big to comprehend. Thanks for sharing these short takes and applications from God’s library of books. The library of books he has created for us that we call the Bible, another improbable event. Glory to God.

    Helpful and Thankful!
I’m so thankful for this podcast. I’m currently taking a Theology class through my local church. The class is intensive. Much of what Simply Put reviews has been covered in the class. The podcast really does “simply put” these theological views/beliefs in a way I can understand and can share with those I disciple. I have shared this podcast with others in my class and they find it helpful too! Thank you Ligonier and Barry for studying for and broadcasting this podcast! It really is a ministry to me!

    Praise God
This is one of the best podcasts I’ve ever listened to. Studying theology in seminary school often had me leave more knowledgeable but also conceited. This podcast, however, often leaves me both more knowledgeable and praising God, the way studying theology should be. Thanks Barry and Ligoneer for your service to the Lord.
  • Mt.6:24
    Jesus’ most neglected teachings...
More people & podcasts are talking these days about the things Jesus taught (in the 4 gospels), but there are a few of his teachings that almost never get serious coverage. Several references (EXCLUDING the “rich young ruler”) are made in Luke about selling all of one’s possessions & giving to the poor and then this teaching is shown to be taken seriously by the time we get to the book of Acts (end of chapters 2 & 4). Another powerful & often neglected paradigm-changing (IF taken at face value) teaching of Jesus is found in Mt. 6:24; Lk. 16:13-14). This has been called the “Two Masters teaching”, one being God/Love and the other/opposite one being money. What would Christianity look like, both inside its confines and to the world at large, if these teachings were given much more serious consideration and application? Take a leap of faith and dive deep into these teachings! ✌🏼
