This is by far my favorite Phillies podcast out there. James and Jack have their finger on the pulse of what’s going on with this baseball team. They are authentic, life-long Phillies fans and it shows. The little sprinkles of sarcasm throughout the episodes makes it *chef’s kiss* for me. I’m always ecstatic when a new episode drops into my feed.

September 2024 update - the new opening theme song is hard to endure. Other than that, this has been my go to Phils pod for 5 years now! Original review: These guys have really renewed my interest in Phillies baseball. I listen to them almost every time I’m in the car and they do an awesome job keeping me in the know with my favorite sports team. Jack is a brilliant seamhead with great insight and James is the perfect sidekick to play off of Jack’s more logistical demeanor. I listened to several different Phils podcasts this year and, after finding High Hopes, those other shows aren’t on my download list any longer. Jack and James are all I need! Keep up the great work guys.

I love this pod but between the poor audio and James scream talking it’s getting difficult to listen to. Please fix the audio.

All he does is scream & clap into the mic making the audio unlistenable. You’re an adult, chill out with the clapping & screaming like a preteen boy. It makes the audio sound so bad 8/2/24 update - Wow so i left the above review a week ago. I try to give this podcast another go today. Within the first 3-5 minutes the man child James is screaming & bashing his counter making the audio literally hurt to listen to. I’ve never listened to a podcast that cares so little about their audio quality

Show used to be good. Can they stop screaming into the mic….just talk baseball. We don’t need a million “buddy….” Not everything is an inside joke….this is becoming unlistenable

This podcast sounds like it was produced by a rural college station in 2008. Unlistenable. Buy a decent microphone

Great show except when they try to pass off Joe Giglio as a member of the cast. Jack and James are the only two people that should be on here. Nobody wants Giglios opinions, mainly because they’re all shock jock bull

Love this podcast. I’ve been listening since the first year BUT there are two major issues I’ve noticed recently. One the audio is garbage, James sounds super quiet whenever he speaks but jack is super loud so if I turn up my volume to be able to hear James I’m getting my eardrums blown up whenever jack talks. And secondly, I spend my life blissfully unaware of Joe Giglio’s garbage takes he comes up with, I don’t need to have him coming up on my podcast feed. I listen for jack and James. Adding onto my review to ask to keep Joe giglio off my feed

5 star podcast, too many commercials these days though, a 15 min pod recently with 5 min + of commercials.

I am writing this review today to comment on what a great job you guys did throughout the season and the postseason. I love High Hopes, because, even when the Phillies lose or choke it is a place to commiserate together. Most of the city will go back to business as usual, and just chalk it up to the natural order of things, but we who live in die with the team every day never really get over these moments. I live in Florida now, but I have been a fan of the Phillies for over 50 years. And I am still angry and sad on this Friday when the World Series is about to start! I will be ready to cheer again in spring training! I learned to know and love Phillies’ baseball from Richie Ashburn and Harry Kalas. Now I am a loyal High Hopes listener, because you guys carry on their tradition of telling it like it is! Thank you again, and keep it up! I hope to make it up to Philly for a High Hopes event sometime! Have one in Clearwater during spring training and I’ll be there! Go Phillies!

I want the podcast, I don’t want WIP shows, especially those with others than James and Fritz or with the idiotic characters they have call in. I just want a podcast, I don’t want all this other junk downloaded

The guy calls in trying to make a point about how far the Phillies have come and uses his grandfather as an analogy for his connection to the Phillies and one of the hosts just shuts him down. It’s a sport and you’re a fully grown man, get over yourself. Disgraceful. Take the loss like an adult not a child.

One of the best sports podcasts out there! The Johan Rojas monologue in the NLCS preview pod will be used in high school public speaking classes across the tristate area. Keep up the great work!

I like full episodes of the high hopes podcast. I am not interested in other WIP programs from other hosts, nor am I interested in the small chapters of the podcasts - they just clog my feed and cause me to resent subscribing in the first place. Otherwise, great work by jack and james. Thanks.

Love the podcast, gave it 5 stars. My only complaint is that James’ volume continually changes as he gets closer and farther from the microphone. When listening with ear pods, sometimes the volume surges in the extreme…but I’m old so take that into account 🤣

But the umpire’s union would never allow it. That union is why we have this debate about robot umps. Once they’re hired they’re protected for life. And I doubt the screening process is as intensive as it should be.

As an huge Philadelphia sports fan and avid podcast listener I listen to a lot of Philadelphia related podcasts and high hopes is the best hands down James and jack are two of the best in the business with the energy they bring to there fandom being felt through the hole episode.

It’s not Phillies season without High Hopes! I never listened to podcasts and then I gave this one a try and now I don’t miss an episode. Fritz and Seltzer just get it, if you’re a diehard Phillies fan and want to listen to other diehards with good opinions, this is the show.

Love these guys. No other sports guys have ever said exactly what I was think more than these two.

The only way I am ever disappointed in the pod is when I find out there isn’t a new one! Awesome work guys!

Congratulations to Fritzy! I think Jack and Jimmie need to temper their expectations…….. The Braves look like contenders and the Mets have some depth. The Phils are starting the season with some injuries…. I’m not sure there is enough Miller Lite to take the edge off the coming season.

Fritz and Seltzer have been the voice of all Phillies fans through all the peaks and valleys of the last half decade. Most creditable and knowledgeable duo out there and all around awesome human beings. From offseason hot stove to in season highlights it’s appointment listening!

I always love listening to this show. I started listening in the dark ages of 2017 and it helped me renew my love of baseball and the Phils. Jack and James are great as well - Im happy to see them doing so well!

Not only is this my favorite Phillies podcast, it’s my favorite podcast in general. Big time must listen for all Phillies/baseball fans
