  • New to Book Riot
    My first Annotated podcast
Today I discovered Annotated podcasts on my computer. What a find. Many years ago I used to work at a public library and bookriot.com takes me back to those happy days. Thank you.

This is a great podcast. I hope Book Riot will bring it back.

    All the Books review
The amiable commentators spend way too much time taking about themselves and not about books, I find the format too casual. I am going to try the other Book riot offerings.

    Continuing?
I have been listening to this podcast since its start and LOVE it. Will there be more episodes? I thought they were dropping monthly but there've not been any for November or December. I hope there will be new content in 2020, because Iā€™ll miss this show if not!

    Very enjoyable!
It took me a while to get into this podcast, as only a handful of the topics really interested me, but now I look forward to the next episodes! My only big qualm is Jeff - his reading and diction always sounds stilted and messy, while Rebeccaā€™s is always more polished and nicer to hear. Jeff will also talk over his cohost repeatedly, which is frustrating as a listener who prefers it when heā€™s less in the foreground.
  • Can I get a What what?
    Refreshing
With so many book related podcasts, this one is a fresh take how to talk about books. I'm happy to see the emerging changes to these types of podcasts. I know another that's coming soon called Paperbacker Podcast that should be a similar effect. Bringing something special to the category. Good job guys.

Even better than BookRiot main podcast!
I'm a devoted BookRiot fan, and this is a treat. Super nerdy deep dives into fascinating topics. It jumps to the top of the queue as soon as it comes out. Keep it coming!!
  • Postcards and Authors

    Iā€™m Hooked
Ok, now I want to open a bookstore and itā€™s all because of Annotated. So good! Bite-sized, easily digestible book nuggets!

    Interesting stories with literary connections
I canā€™t say Iā€™m in love with every episode, but there are enough stories that grab my interest and stay with me that this podcast has survived more than one round of subscription purges. I especially love the episode about Carnegie libraries and the one about Belle da Costa Greene, which surprises me because thatā€™s not typically an era that fascinates me. Iā€™ve sent the Carnegie Library episode in particular to like five people.

    Amazingly Great
Well written and articulate. I listen to too many podcasts but this is the one I catch immediately upon release.

    A literary treat
This is one of my favorite podcasts. It has a unique take on books and authors, two of my great passions. As a librarian I love these tiny peeks into history. Iā€™m so happy to know more about Edna Ferber than just her name to fill in on a crossword grid!

    Great book pod
I searched online for a good book podcast and saw this was highly rated. I ended up listening to all episodes in 3 days. Wow! So informative and interesting. If I can't read at work might as well listen to stuff Annie books at work!

    I love Annotated
I listen to several Book Riot podcasts. Annotated is one of my favorites. Lots of good Book nerd information. Loved the episode on Carnegie Libraries. I live in Pittsburgh, where there is a whole system of Carnegie Libraries. Also, I Love Libraries. Wouldnā€™t have been introduced to most of the authors, music, information that I have come to love without my local library. Keep up the good work.

    Great podcast
I absolutely love this podcast. Great content, super informative, perfect for book and language nerds. I love that they are short too. I have enough hour long podcasts to get through.

    Love Annotated
So far, my favorite is the one on FRANKENSTEIN and its genesis. They pack a lot of information into 20 minutes. Such a great podcast.
  • Hayley Crowell
    Fascinating and bookish...just splendid!
This podcast is fascinating, well-researched, and certainly bookish. With each episode, you learn something new about the world of books, and it never makes you feel bad about your TBR pile. If youā€™re at all interested in the subject matter, I highly recommend this podcast!

    Informative and Fun!
Annotated provides listeners with so much fun and nerdy trivia that can be used to annoy friends and loved ones. As a fan of the Book Riot podcast, I also enjoy seeing Rebecca and Jeff in my podcast feed more often, as they are so entertaining and have a great recording chemistry. Iā€™m super excited about the new release schedule, with a new episode on the first of every month. Thank you for making this show! šŸ’›

  • A BOOKNERD MUST
Context is everything - and we finally get that
Nothing happens in a vaccuum and since books are such a cultural touch-point, books and the stories surrounding them are critical to understanding our society as it is. This podcast is funny, approachable, fascinating and feeds my book nerd soul! I cannot recommend it enough and I cannot wait until September 1st!

    Spot on
Love learning about books but tired of listening to authors blather on about their yarn du jour? BAM! Annotated. Youā€™re welcome.
  • SassyCA
    Excellent, fun and informative
I stumbled on Annotated a few weeks ago and have now listened to every episode available. I enjoy the topics, the approach, the personalities and the voices. I have only one complaint: it doesnā€™t come out often enough.
  • Affably Evil
    So much fun!
I didnā€™t expect to like Annotated as much as I do, because I usually like unscripted podcasts way more. But I love it! Jeff and Rebecca are totally charming and the stories are fascinating.

Of course it's great, it's BOOKRIOT!
Loved this can't get enough of BOOKRIOT. So thankful to hear this detailed, researched duo. Very interesting and very relevant. Itā€™s a mystery, a literary one, they are unveiling! This podcast just gets me to either google more about the topic or grab the books associated with it! Canā€™t get enough! Excellent podcasting always!

    Wow
One of the best bookish info pods. Love it.

99% for book related topics -- Love it!
Love Book Riot and Annotated! These are all about 20 mins., literary and fascinating. Plenty of dinner party conversation starters. The audio was a bit wonking on the first few episodes. They seem to have fixed the audio.
  • Spadawg
    I love Annotated
I feel like I preach about Book Riot podcasts and website all the time, especially the flagship eponymous podcast. But I really love Annotated as well. Itā€™s always a fascinating little story about the history of something in the world of books.
  • incognito82
    Really interesting story
I listened to an episode about dictionary. I love it.
  • CorineLuvzGreen

    Book and writerly stories
One of my favorite podcasts. Well-produced, great reporting/story-telling. Short enough to squeeze into a busy life. So glad to see you back for a second season. Stick around, I will be. Keep up the good work.

    Bookish Goodness
I really enjoy this podcast. It's just the right length to enjoy with your morning coffee and it explores fascinating moments in bookish history with enough detail to pique the interest and not so much that the mind wanders. I am a faithful listener of a number of Book Riot podcasts, but this is my favorite production from that team thus far!
  • Gerrymander1979

I was searching for bookish podcasts and found this gem! Excellent vignettes touching on topics that will appeal to book lovers and anyone who loves deep dives into fascinating stories.

    Bite-sized Bookish Goodness!
I love this podcast! Itā€™s just the right amount of time, 20-30 minutes, to give me a little bookish history and knowledge in one sitting while Iā€™m getting ready for work or cleaning the kitchen. Really interesting topics and well produced. I hope they make many more episodes! Recommended for all book and English major nerds.

    Love, love, love
The only thing I dislike about this podcast is that I want there to be more! Rebecca and Jeff do a great job of explaining complicated, crazy stories in a way that is accessible without becoming condescending. I've recommended this podcast to several friends, and can't say enough good things about it.
  • Dally07
    Absolutely Amazing!
I'm only 4 episodes into the first season and this is by far my new favorite podcast! It's interesting, greatly written and fascinating!
  • AndiF, Township Dog Scratcher
Informative and Fun: the perfect combination
Jeff and Rebecca, as all listeners to the Book Riot podcast know, are a great team. Here we get a more subdued podcast but still with all the great insights we've come to expect. The research on each topic is very well done and they deliver it with a style that makes it easy to absorb and enjoy.
