Too verbose, lots of pomp and show and little substance. Quite a waste of Casey Newton talent.

First time in a while I’ve felt excited for a podcast! Keep up the great work!

I liked the guest, I hated the random scoring and arbitrary rules. It made trying to absorb the topic and enjoy the guest into a hopscotch experience of interest in the dicussion alternating with annoyance at the grade school talent show trappings.

The show is fun and the interviews are informative and entertaining. Get this man a sponsor!

I seriously got excited for Subway dessert sandwiches! I don’t know much about tech, but I find this podcast incredibly engaging.

I love pretty much everything that The Verge does, so I was expecting to love this. Casey is an awesome host! Super witty and playful. He’s great. I really enjoyed the structure and questions asked. Fun but still insightful. I think the game show sound effects were a tad overplayed, they rang on for a little too long. I do understand that that’s the theme, however. Wouldn’t stop me from listening though!

I was very excited about this podcast, I love the Vergecast and I love the topic. After about 5 minutes I completely lost it, it sounds to me like the “audience” of the “game show” is all just a laugh track and orchestrated “awww, wow!”... This is just so so whack. Just interview your guests man, don’t do this whole gimmicky disingenuous fake game show thing where you and your guests are pretending people are listening. It sounds so, so fake and forced and it’s just unlistenable. I felt so sorry for the super interesting guest that was put into this bizarrely concocted scenario.

This show will make you laugh and really get to know the personality of tech people and what they do.

Casey Newton is a fine journalist but also a funny guy. The combination shines through in a game show concept that encapsulates an interview with useful information about tech. I really enjoyed the first episode.

Fun show, will continue to listen. Hopefully future episodes get a little more densely packed, as the first one felt a little long to me. That said, great guest and great host. Looking forward to episode 2!

Sorry, love the vergecast, love the site but this concept is both sorta half cocked and also not very interesting. The jokes are really flat, tech execs are not funny. It also doesn’t take an adversarial enough tone with tech executives. They can not be allowed to come on and basically advertise their products. This is really not how someone purporting to be a journalist and from a journalistic institution should conduct themselves around someone they are tasked with reporting on. Definitely needs a serious retool or to be scrapped. Lastly, just the optics of a white straight man arbitrarily judging other people on their ideas isn’t really that good even if it’s meant to be a joke.

Based on Caey’s pilot episode, this will be a fantastic addition to your podcast rotation.

Casey has created a gem of a podcast. This is the most multi-dimensional podcast I have ever heard. The energy is high, the questions are great, the format is original, and most importantly it introduces you to great people who you genuinely want to hear more about. Casey keeps the listener and guest up to speed on what’s going on in this podcast as there’s lots of different segments, which keeps it moving along and keeps you very engaged. The Verge has so many amazing and talented people. We are so fortunate to be able to consume more of their amazing content. This is my new regular with the Vergecast. Thank you Casey for being such an amazing and intelligent content creator.

Casey Newton is my favorite Silicon Valley reporter. He’s gets the human side of technology and here he tries to bring it out from the people behind the companies he covers. He’s so funny and charming; this has great potential.

I have to admit - I didn't think the game show concept would work. But, Converge pulls it off with a great host, and a great first guest. Looking forward to listening to future episodes.

But for real, it’s fun and entertaining and educational. Also, that improv-witty-banter vibe is 🔥🔥 The editing and audio make it very fun to listen to. If this podcast were a bus, Casey would be Ms. Frizzle.
