Richard delivers great information about the smart home for consumers. I love hearing about the new ZWave, WiFi, Insteon and Zigbee devices and how they inter operate. It’s also enjoyable to listen too, just the right amount of depth into each subject and great guests!

If you are a DIY home automation enthusiast this podcast is a must. Richard is always well informed on the latest trends. I learn something new every time I listen and I never miss an episode.

Richard knows the industry and the technologies. He gets big guests and has conversations that go deep and also keep the big picture. He has informed opinions usually ones that take the side of the consumer experience and he’s not affraid to tell a guest when they are on the “wrong” side of it. In other words, he doesn’t let the company’s marketing narrative control the frame of discussion. When it comes to lighting and switches — his insights are second to none. I am the creator of a smart lighting app and know a thing or two on the topic. Richard always connects the right dots. He knows where the unsolved problems are. This podcast is light and cheerful, and easily listenable in the car, at home, or when I'm out and about. Since pretty much none of my friends are into home automation, this is pretty much my only news outlet and (one-sided) conversation about the "iot" market and home automation.

I just recently found this podcast and I can't get enough. I love the discussions with the industry folks talking when the industry is heading as a whole. I hear ideas here I don't seem to find anywhere else. Keep it up guys, I can't wait for more.

Richard is a, well I'm not exactly sure what he does by day. But by night and any other time he can he is one heck of a podcaster. Starting with Entertainment 2.0 and now Home: On he keeps us up to date with the latest in the Home Automation space. You can also find him on numerous other podcasts as a guest, he is just that good.

This podcast is very informative and contains a ton of helpful advice. If you dabble in Home Automation, Gadgets & Consumer Electronics this will be useful.

I've listened to several other smart home podcast before finding Home On and this one is the best. The show format is great. The news section is informative and fun. The guests are not just fans of home automation, but actually in the industry. They provide great insight and points of view that I as I consumer am concerned about. I have learned about several products and services that I have been looking for and didn't know existed.

I can't get enough and I'm now working my way well into the backlog.

Very impressed with this podcast. While I am not that into lighting, I am starting several projects in a house we just purchased. I like your take on things, and your commitment to be mostly unbiased even though we all have our preferences. You are starting to get me more interested in lighting, I guess I will have to keep listening until you get me completely sold. Thank you.

The Home: On podcast always has timely and relevant information on "all things smart home". But moreover, it's insightful ... not just a rehash of material covered by others.

I’ve been listening to Home: On since it started. I was a fan of Entertainment 2.0, another DMZ podcast co-hosted by Richard Gunther. Home: On started shortly after I got into home automation. I never miss an episode. The length is perfect for my commute and having it bi-weekly ensures they are never looking for filler. Always quality material. There is a downside: Each episode results in me wanting to spend money! The most recent with the EcoBee 3 was incredible. I learned quite a bit about the system and spent the entire show trying to figure out where I should place the sensors in my house and how I could integrate it with the rest of my home automation equipment. Thanks to Richard for doing this show.

If you have simple interest in home automation or are looking for in depth information Richard has you covered. He takes a straight forward and very honest approach to this rapidly changing industry. The topics are discussed in a manner a first timer will understand the subject being covered. My personal advise...put this show on your must listen to list and start your own home automation fun.

Congrats to Richard Gunter on the first anniversay of the Home:On podcat... it is one of my favorite podcasts! I have always loved home automation since the days of X10 and the earliest WiFi thermostats and home controls systems. I finally feel like the industry is ready to explode and surprise us all. I am very impressed with the 'heavy hitters' that Richard has been able to line up for the show including CEOs and CTOs of some of the companies that are leaders in the home automation space.

I’d never heard of the "Digital Media Zone” and stumbled upon this podcast while searching for shows about home automation… so glad I did because this is a great show! Went back and listening to all the old episodes… definitely give this show a spin!

Full disclosure: I was a guest on one of the early episodes about INSTEON. But I was a fan before that episode, and I've been listening ever since. Richard & the guests really do a great job with this podcast. If you're thinking of jumping into affordable home automation, you will learn a lot listening in, with thoughtful, technical discussions.
