bnedwekDroboDon't call something a "review" if the episode is 1 minute of intro and 3 minutes of reading talking points from the press release.

William of BellinghamBill of BellinghamThis is a really great and informative podcast. They really go in depth in critiqueing a camera.

gembrechtsMy Go to Before PurchaseI love listening to all about the different gear. It really helps when you need to make a purchase to have this in depth informations

Tofu-FanVery informative showI like the chemistry between the hosts. I enjoy learning about the new gear and trust your opinions. Thank you for putting together a great show. I am a mirror less Sony guy now because of you. I have listened to every episode. Keep it up, we are out there listening!

noidontwanttoenteranameFun and Entertaining way to stay up on all the latest camerasI’ve been a TWIP listener for many years, and really enjoy this specific podcast about the gear. Doug and Frederick provide lively, entertaining reviews with a good balance of tech talk and “who is this camera for” discussion. Great show!

Trace VanGordenAwesome Awesome AwesomeThe “All about the Gear” podcast it truly one of my TOP 3 podcasts I listen to. Doug and Frederick’s chemistry together is great and these guys REALLY know their stuff. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give them a 12 . . .

The Closet GamerBiased reviewsIt's tough to listen to these reviews (especially as it relates to cameras), as these guys seem like the biggest Mirrorless fanboys around. It just seems like they can't ever give a positive review to any camera that isn't mirorless. Other than that, this is an OK resource for reviews.

q93463Can't get enoughKeep up the good work, guys! Always enjoyable and informative.

ImHere4YouInformational and FUNTwo cool guys that create a great listening format that provides you with all you need to know about new cameras. Great for those long rides to and from work or to just find out what is happening in the tech camera world.

MacMcAppleInformative and entertaining.Very informative podcast. It's like a instant version of doing weeks of camera research yourself. Doug and Frederick know what they're talking about. One of the deciding factors of purchasing my Sony Alpha a6000 was the review on it and what Doug has to say about it. I'm extremely happy with the a6000 and agree with Doug that it could be the camera of the year and it is in fact capable of replacing my Canon 7D. Thanks guys. Looking forward to more episodes!

jjlapierreUncle Doug Rocks the GearGreat Podcast - Always on my list of must see videos. Thanks guys!
-
BriskbugGreat podcast about gearWhat a great way to help you decide if you want that new Fujifilm camera or just to check out what pros think of gear than to listen to these two guys review gear (all cameras so far).
-
flatmacsurfA Great ResourceI've been a fan of this show since the beginning. It's a great resource for real real world reviews of the latest cameras. I love the format and the only request I would have is I'd love to see lens reviews. Perhaps this is a whole other show. Doug and Frederick have us buying all these camera bodies, but we need some great glass to put onto them!! :)

BljarvListen to every episode!Even if I'm not interested in the particular camera they are reviewing, I really enjoy listening to Doug and Fredrick.

KarresAlways InterestingAlways interesting, even when reviewing cameras for which I have no intent to buy. I especially like the “what’s the competition for this camera?” and “who is this camera for?” segments.

Tom In TulsaGreat ShowI have been a long time TWIP listener and am now a dedicated AATG fan. Doug and Frederick really work well together with great Chemistry. Doug is very technical and Frederick is a great host who pulls Doug back from the technical stuff with his famous “Who is this for?” Together they are a great team. One of the things I really like about TWIP and now about AATG is that they often talk about and point you to other peoples reviews and comments on the gear they are reviewing when the other person makes a good comment or if they disagree with Doug’s review. I think that is a very mature confident way to review products. Great job - I love the show!

jkallaLove it, but where’s the video??Why do I have to goto YouTube to get the video of this podcast? It’s annoying! A gear show needs video! This is a great podcast, though.

Citizen6Gearheads, rejoice!Even when I have no interest in a specific camera, I like hearing about features that I can anticipate showing up on my next one. I shoot Canon, but enjoy hearing what the mirrorless vendors are doing. Doug and Frederick use the same, casual conversational style as the TWIP flagship podcast, which might be my favorite.
-
SmugpriusThese guys are truly awesome at what they do!Doug and Frederick are entertaining, knowledgeable and extremely eloquent as they test and put words and thoughts to the use of all the hot new cameras and tech innovations. They have great "radio" chemistry and humor as they bring out the aspects of each camera that any serious photographer would want to know. The reviews provide a detailed overview of the features, usability and performance of each camera system. They are honest about how these dimensions place the camera offering in the current landscape and also take into consideration the design relative to its intended use. If there are tradeoffs, they shed light on those and weigh in on the impact of the compromise in real world use.

utmuhbsExcellent, tight, and usefulExecuting these shows is tougher than it seems. Just listening to them talk about gear and photography may seem like you're eavesdropping on a conversation but Doug has always done the homework and gives a solid explanation and Frederick's interviewing never gets in the way. I especially like that the show will occasionally deviate from the format as appropriate, bringing in additional guests or doing a show on backup strategies. Maybe they will do additional shows with a longitudinal take on gear, like a conversation on different approaches manufacturers take on wireless communication. Nice job!

IflyRCGreat informationThis podcast is a must if you are looking at getting a new camera. If not it is always good to know what is new and what works and what is just a gimmick.
-
GregoryuTerrific show for photographers and gear junkies at any level! If you are a photographer at any level this show is for you. Even if you aren't considering a purchase anytime soon you can stay up to date with the newest features on new cameras. Great way to learn photography in a round about way. Two great personalities blending together in a Q&A format for a super enjoyable half hour!

PaulsonnLove cameras? This is your podcastA show for people who love cameras. Doug and Frederick know their stuff, and are candid about their opinions. They have wide experience in many different brands of cameras, and are open about their biases—very refreshing. The video version could use some upgraded production values (like actually showing controls on the camera while they are talking about them), but the audio version works pretty well on its own. I always enjoy this podcast because it allows me to “window shop” with knowledgeable friends.

Shipper999Great Review of the Fuji X30Uncle Doug and Frederick always excellent camera reviews. I own an X-T1 and have to say this review makes me want to add the X30 to my collection. Thanks guys for making me spend another $600! Really!
-
FchieliThe perfect podcastDoug and Frederick are great at dissecting all camera aspects, quirks and qualities. The only problem is the fact I run out of episodes to watch too quickly!

Wade TregaskisA podcast about the gear should actually know about the gearI sampled the D810 episode. The overall production quality was okay, but the hosts demonstrated some surprising ignorance about the very product they were reviewing and had supposedly been recently using. e.g. why it offers a split zoom mode in live view, or the differences between SD, CF & XQD cards, or seemingly the presence of crop modes, etc. That one of the hosts prefaces the review with an assertion that the D800E is only good for landscapes and only for manual focus, and that it “can’t” be used as a go-to, walk-about or everyday camera, is just flabbergasting. There’s further dubious assertions throughout, like that there’s little difference between the D810 and the A7R (like, I don’t know, autofocus performance maybe?). While everyone’s entitled to their opinions, it certainly makes me question the validity and usefulness of a product review when at least one of the hosts has such an unusual and frankly bizarre bias.
