Excellent podcast that involving serious journalists discussing the big issues impacting football. Love it.

I love the distain in Calvin’s voice when he calls Burnleys new American owners “venture capitalists”. Just utter contempt and disgust. I’m sure he’s broadcasting live from his 400sf apartment in a faceless pale yellow building as he says this. He’s just a regular bloke waiting in line for his daily ration of bread and vodka like everyone else.

Intelligent, measured & thoughtful commentary on premier league and European football. Great host and guests…this is for real football fans who don’t want to hear bombast but prefer the thinking person’s approach to the beautiful game

By far the best of the ‘broadsheet pods’ for knowledge and insight. Part way through last year looking like it shook the guest list up and became far more diverse & inclusive. Long may it continue always a decent listen this. Nice one MC.

It’s elevated conversation about football. Thoughtful. Considered. Not looking for shock jock headlines. Mike Calvin cares about the game and it’s well being. His weekly guests are always value added and bring great insight and opnion. I don’t agree with everything that’s said but that makes a great podcast. A weekly must listen for me.

Good podcast, but it’s literally only ever a discussion of the top 6 in practice. Calvin complains about the elite clubs taking over the game, then validates them by discussing nothing else. Melissa Reddy??

When it’s great it’s really great. For the most part its stellar with a great host and some premier level guests. Recently it’s been burdened with a guy who is full of himself, speaks without thinking and is just irritating. Another is super smart but uncomfortable to the ear. If the producer was ambitious about quality control it would be the ‘go to’ football pod, but too often it’s not.

Insightful. Topical. Well hosted. Great guests.

More sport, less activism would be ideal. Not every match-week storyline involves race, politics, and marcus rashford...but these guys do love any excuse to talk about the Manchester and London clubs.

Hands down the best football podcast ever. Nothing else even comes close.

Are these commentators asking bankers and hedge fund managers to take a pay cut? Footballers are predominantly from working class background, and don’t deserve their pay checks I guess

I gave this podcast a chance for several months but if you think Yanks are arrogant about everything. this podcast demonstrates that the limit of arrogance over stupidity goes to infinity - and beyond in England! If you love the moralizing of Proper English Football Writers or hanging on to the last vestiges of the British Empire, this is the podcast for you. Otherwise, keep moving - you have better things to waste your time on than this rubbish.
