Shining-LightGreat podcasts, with one fault, and one serious mistakeAlways very well done, well researched and presented, but the giggling is a distraction. The serious mistake was in the roundup on the last Fri in March, woefully wrong. The efforts to limit people voting is intentional voter suppression, beginning with Paul Weyrich, the most influential unelected man in modern history. “I don’t want everybody to vote.”

Mac an tSionnaighChildren’s ShowConjecture supposition and inane waffle apart from Dominico Montenaro. Should change the name of the show to Gen-Z. Even NPR reportage is becoming more and more Gen-Z with purile presentation and reportage. Shows made by kids for kids. Disappointing nonsense. Where’s the beef?

DJSMD24Please fact checkI listened to your episode on Mahmoud Khalil. A comment was made that Khalil, a Syrian national, has family ties to Tiberias that you stated “is now in Israel, but was previously Palestine”. In fact, prior to the establishment of Israel in 1948, this area was under a British mandate. Please fact check. Such errors make me question other data you present.

DiscerningtruthNPR listener turned awayI used to listen to NPR because I thought they actually served the public by presenting facts and evidence. I’ve since switched to listening to actual news sources like Majority Report. NPR has shown constant sympathy and support to Israel for the past the year and a half genocide on Palestinians and it is atrocious and disgusting. Ignoring the full scope of a genocide and refusing to share pertinent information on the ample evidential war crimes Israel commits daily is fascist behavior from NPR. This makes it impossible to 1. Distinguish if what they are saying about other topics are correct 2. Determine propaganda I just want a news source that I can trust and NPR is not it anymore.

ubikwitus6Great podcastFabulous show

HonestPodcastListenerYour response to the SOTUI was really disappointed when you discussed the ejection of Rep. Al Green for disruption but you didn’t bring up the previous outbursts/disruptions on the other side for Obama’s and Biden’s SOTUs and how certain GOP Rep.s were not ejected.

AsciguySo sadDancing around the Orangführer's destruction of our nation. And 'safe to fly'? That understaffing makes it so? Why lie like CNN?

Hannah NWWonderful ShowThis is such a fabulous podcast, I’ve been listening for years and I’ve yet to find anything comparable. Thank you for all you do, especially for the recent coverage of harassment in the federal judiciary. As an attorney, it meant a lot to hear these issues brought to light.
-
golgikanjiCan let it goListener intros, irritating march music, endless recitation of each of your titles (at beginning and end) and the tiresome can't let it go. These all should be eliminated or changed. The bonus segment on Dept Edication was superficial and useless. It could be a decent show if you cut out all the baloney.

N. BaileyBlow Jobs At Work as the Can’t let it goThe hosts decided to laud the lady who blew her boss at work on the pod today.

Dano1Democrat PodcastIt’s pretty obvious who funds your podcast. Well look at this!! NPR is a taxpyer-funded, far-left wing media outlet. Several "hosts" earn $500,000 a year in total compensation. Weird now the crazy democrats are mad about your podcast. The Democrats are almost officially done :)

Murph KingLacks Cohesion and ToneI understand that this is NPR and that’s stands for bland and dry. With that said, the degree to which this podcast underplays what is happening in our country right now is insulting. It takes the form of both-sidism and taking on a preachy and condescending tone when engaging with the audience who wants the Democratic Party do more to combat the Trump administration. These people will be doing neutral, bland discussion while Trump marches them off to prison.

pny10x64Both Sides/Normalization = CapitulationI never thought I would see the day where NPR lacked the journalistic spine required for journalism in the second Trump era but here we are. I’ve been unable to listen to the show since last summer when I they began their peddling of the both sides/normalization nonsense and attempting to frame the current moment through a pre-Trump lens that doesn’t exist anymore.
-
JamesonWeeklyLame & HarmfulI am stopping my NPR donations immediately because of this podcast. We are in a constitutional crisis. Your lack of holding congressional Dems accountable for their lack of action to obstruct the republican agenda is infuriating and your lighthearted tone is gross.

g3h93Dramatic turn right since inaugurationI have listened to this show since shortly after it started, and its coverage has often been brief but also detailed, well reported, and in context. Since the election, and the inauguration especially, the hosts have accepted obvious bad faith claims and arguments as fact, for example sticking with the claim that Doge is sincerely about “cutting costs”, despite the abundant and glaring evidence to the contrary. It is now less a news show than one simply regurgitating administration talking points. Really disappointing, and the hosts should be ashamed of their capitulation.
-
vodkaabcStopped listeningReporting what is happening as normal politics is either capitulation or clueless.

Db258Just the factsSad to see people attack this podcast. Half say it is a liberal propaganda machine. The other half say it is legitimizing the Trump administrations crimes. I guess if you make everyone mad you are in the right spot. Its funny because everyone from any side calling this propaganda is really angry that it is not propaganda. They want a podcast that agrees with them, exaggerates, and calls for political action. Thats not npr.

MissionManSFGood content dumbed down and gigglyGuess you gotta be “relatable”, but these correspondents deserve the chance to be professional. At the least, let go of Can’t Let it Go and the godawful listeners intros.

kwi747DisappointedUsed to be a daily listener. I stopped donating to NPR based on the coverage in this show. Quite glib about how the current Trump administration is attacking our republic and the shadow government is running things. Your listeners expect more than this podcast attempting to legitimize what is illegitimate. There is truth and fact but these presenters aren’t interested in being honest and would prefer to subjugate themselves to the administration.

Bickolas23Sane-washing Trump 2.0“Elon Musk is keeping his campaign promise of trying to cut $2 trillion of federal spending through his unit, DOGE. After some questions about his role, the White House announced that he is now a "special government employee." What has Musk been able to accomplish thus far?” This is the description of the 2/4/2025 episode. STOP SANE-WASHING THIS ADMINISTRATION AND CALL A SPADE A SPADE. Elon Musk is an unelected foreign oligarch who is attempting a hostile takeover of the federal government. Stop trying to both sides this and start calling this out as the dangerous and unprecedented thing that it is. Stop kowtowing to Trump. That is how we ended up here again. Stop failing to meet the moment with your weak journalism.

Cole RusselI feel like a better American due to this podcastI love the coverage and the information shared. It makes me feel informed and involved. I appreciate it is not about politicians, but about good journalists reporting on the information given. Non-biased and well informed.

IA04MiserableTamara Keith’s lack of journalistic skill and integrity is part of the effort that lead us to where we are. Oligarchy, release of criminals from jail who are not on the streets, hold on cancer research money. Both sidism was strong in her coverage but facts analysis was not. She bought the Trump line hook and sinker. I don’t trust her political coverage, and I find no helpful insight from her. I’ve seen enough fail upwards. Much better experts and podcasts out there. This is a big no thanks.

PiculinaDisappointedI used to look forward to hearing this podcast but now I find myself rolling my eyes through it. I listen to hear a synopsis of the latest political news and instead it has devolved into supposition, opinion, and nonsense. I’m thoroughly disappointed and honestly don’t know how much longer I will bother listening. I’m giving 2 stars just because I’m an optimist and I hope this is just a temporary dip in quality. Updating to reflect further disappointment. Today’s episode on a second civil war is ridiculous. The commentary doesn't just ignore the risk of violence we are facing, it denies the probability completely. The country is not just divided philosophically - there is a large contingent of people who have been stockpiling weapons with full intention of using them. Enough of the euphemisms - pull your heads out of the sand. New edit: I’m tired of the “lighthearted” tone and laughing through serious news. It’s not worth following this show anymore.

N. Bills6Language.On Jan. 16 Greg M. mentioned that Palestinian homes had been “torn down?” Are you kidding me? Why are you afraid to say bombed by Israel with American weapons?

Olivia123879Wow…I listen to this podcast on occasion, to try and understand where the left is coming from…yeah I still don’t get it and think your all nuts. No wonder Trump won. Keep on keeping on, the right will keep winning. 😊 Fine with us!

LoveisintheStarsThey can’t meet the moment10 years of Trump and they still haven’t figured out how to cover him. I like NPR but it’s no wonder legacy media is failing. They still try to sand him down and put words in his mouth in an attempt to make him sound coherent or like it’s politics as usual. They’ll still be doing milquetoast both sides coverage while he marches them to prison.
-
Bocephus MoonshineDisappointingly shallowNot nearly as “in depth” as they advertise. How can you cover the life and impact of Jimmy Carter without even mentioning civil service reform?

t3dgaFantastic! Criticism does not equal biasA lot of these reviewers clearly indicate that they are stuck in 8th grade emotionally and never grew up to understand that when a person receives professional, constructive criticism, it is not a personal attack or a bias against them. Adults learn that criticism is a tool to help make you better. Criticism and critical thinking work to point out flaws in arguments and helps to understand differing and opposing points of view. Criticism is not an opinion bias or an attack but rather a tool for growth, learning, and collaboration. It challenges us to examine our assumptions, refine our skills, and engage with the perspectives of others. When embraced with an open mind and delivered constructively, criticism becomes a powerful catalyst for both individual and collective progress. NPR Politics podcast does a fantastic job analyzing and critiquing everyone in Washington politics and demonstrate unbiased analysis. Thank you!

iMaxExperienceReviews are telling of a larger issue with our media consumptionI enjoy the NPR Politics podcast and I think you all are doing a fantastic job at giving us political junkies some extra air time to talk about salient topics. The reviews under this podcast are so varied that there are many people who think the podcast is too left-wing, and many who think it’s too right-wing. Biased, sensational media has flooded our eyes and ears and we latch on to the smallest things and lash out when pundits don’t verify our personal beliefs and it shows in these reviews. The fact of the matter is that reporting on the news and calling things what they are, whether with some light humor or not, is always going to ignite someone’s frustration that the podcast isn’t being hard enough on one side or the other. Keep up the good work — the fact that the reviews can’t agree on the bias shows you’re doing this right.

B_The_LocksTimely, Informative and UpbeatLove the short-form template because it allows me to take in only what I need to know. Plus, the reporters’ positive tone allows me to keep tuning in during rough news cycles.
-
JLRMINeeds to find its voice and angleDisappointing podcast. NPR trying to sound “cool” and light-hearted - and coming across as tone-deaf and disingenuous. Dangerous normalization of the upcoming administration with childish humor, passive voice and pretense of objectivity that ignores glaring facts.

lnrdddlopatoeA precipitous declineThis used to be a forum in which people who knew a lot about politics discussed the day’s events but, in recent years, it has devolved into a scripted civics lesson. I took civics in high school folks, no need for a daily retread.

Daisy & ZaraWhat about the big corporations? You never said a word about price gouging!!

No President For LifeThe assumption that Trump will behave normallyIt seems that the journalists here keep trying to rationalize this situation. Why do they assume that Trump will leave after four years? I don’t think I’m being alarmist by thinking that he will have some “reason” to make an exception for himself to run for a third term.

MoonyThinkerGood but Bias is Easy to HearNPR is a good journalism provider of news. But, since 2016 the reporting out of context or “opinions” in a non-opinion space has expanded year on year which is a turn off for journalism junkies like me.

NYC psychologistAbout ready to unsubscribeAfter years of listening and supporting NPR politics, and as we go into Election Day, I’m expressing my disbelief at how flimsy this “analysis” has become. Being a nearly daily podcast, you could have gone deep into the policies of Project 2025. You could, as suggested on a recent On the Media segment, gone into the actual parallels of fascist rhetoric, matched by suggested policy by the Republican Party. If deemed to be too “imbalanced” you could have dug far more deeply into the policies of the Harris campaign, which you demanded and criticized a lack of, and then only cursorily discussed once released. The main coverage has been the horse race, and micro changes in polls, sometime directly and sometimes though talking about “voters.” You frequently jump to “analysis,” before discussing the actual subjects. That may make you feel smart, attempting to predict how something will be “spun” but when you do that as your primary analysis, you aren’t doing anything at all. It has the flavor of witty banter about the napkins at a dinner party and what people will say about them while the house is on fire. I’m sure my criticisms will be dismissed out of hand. But I’m in my late 40s, grew up on NPR, and had been instilling the next generation (my kids) with that same love. I find myself listening less and less to NPR programming (still love my local affiliate WNYC) and less inclined to pledge my support every year. Why? The quality of reporting has plummeted. You don’t need to be biased. You just need actual reporting, which is not, “I interviewed someone about how mad they are at Biden about the price of eggs, which they said were $12 a dozen, which isn’t true but did I inform them, no. That’s just their FEELING about it, so I’m reporting that FEELING.” That informs nothing and no one. Just gives a platform for feeling to carry the day, which listeners then have feelings about and on and on. I gave this election cycle another go, but every episode comes out, I see what you’re discussing, sigh and think, should I even bother listening. I know what they’re going to say and it’s going to be empty and vapid. I’m only writing this rant because I actually want NPR to succeed and flourish. This isn’t the way.

Midwest InstitutionalistClear Right Wing BiasYou spoke about Trump wandering around on stage twice - once for 40 minutes and a second time for 19 minutes - where he has no focus, no direction, and no cohesion and did not once mention his age or potential risk of dementia. In fact, you stated that “there was nothing broader we could gleam” from those events. You’re minimizing Trump’s age and dementia risk, over-critical in your analysis of Harris, and its clear to me that your podcast is favorable to Trump. Right wing, pro-Trump bias. Sorry, but unsubscribed

DinosEatManFavorite way to start the day!I’ve just approached my 4th year of listening to this podcast every day. A quick, informative way to hear what’s happening daily in this crazy political landscape we live in. Thank you to all your reporters for keeping us up to date.
